We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights for a work trip, and the hotel was a delight. Not your typical business hotel (ie no business centre or gym) but felt much more traditional, and was fantastic being in the heart of the old town, so we could walk around in the evenings and get a feel for the city.... Our family stayed at El Relicario del Carmen in March 2013. It is located close to the historic center of Quito. Great location to walk to historic sites. The hotel was charming, service was outstanding, and the rooms were clean. We ate in the restaurant one of the evenings - delicious dinner with fresh ingredients. We were so pleased with... More

We had room 27 and had the marvelous experience of following the Good Friday Procession from our balcony, really great, streets were so crowded that it would have been impossible to take the great pictures I took. Lovely rooms, nice decor , bathroom somewhat small. Good breakfast and extremely convenient location in the middle of old town, yet very quiet... More

We had the pleasure of spending two nights in mid-March 2013 at Casa Relicario in Quito. its location is ideal for exploring the old city. Our room was very comfortable. However, it was somewhat stuffy as we were unable to open the windows and the air conditioner/fan was substandard. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The Casa is an... More

An ideal location for visiting historic buildings in the old town; a quiet and restful refuge with a staff both polite and eager to assist with cabs, etc. Would not be suitable for people with mobility problems, but highly recommended to those with an interest in the history and culture of Ecuador.

I stayed here with my husband and our 2 kids and my Dad for 3 nights. The location is perfect for visiting the top historical buildings which are churches and cathedrals as well as finding restaurants and souvenirs. The hotel itself feels like a grand home with a parlour, sun room and small courtyard with an original well. The rooms... More

This is a great little hotel in the old town. Easy walking to all of the old town attractions. The service is great; the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Staying in the old town is convenient because that's where most of the walkable sites in Quito are. (I got the feeling that... More

We recently visited Quito and arrived 2 days earlier than our booking at Hostel La Rabida which was full; they recommended this hotel. The location in the historic area was perfect for accessing the major points of interest and it provided an intimate, warm and elegant feeling as if staying at someone's house. The staff - as mentioned - mainly... More

We spent 3 nights at this hotel which was recommended by the owners of the Hacienda La Alegria where we had been staying. As noted in other reviews the hotel was originally a home that has been converted to a hotel. The decor is beautiful with many antiques and wooden carved doors. Prices for the rooms vary based on size... More

We spent a few nights here on our arrival in Equador. It is a beautiful converted old colonial house that has been done with style. The staff are attentive and friendly and good breakfasts. Quiet and unassuming. My only con would that it is probably overpriced, which meant that we were almost the only guests. Having said that, if you... More
