This property is beautiful...we had one of the larger rooms & it was quite spacious. The bathroom had a separate tub/shower and were fabulous. The room was quiet even if it was directly above the dining area. The daily programs are good...it's a resort that is geared to birders (which we are not). We really enjoyed the daily walks and... The road to Mashpi Lodge is well worth the bumps, dust, traffic, hills, turns and rocks slides you pass in order to arrive to 5 Star care. This is a travelers paradise with the most professional staff and support team you could imagine. Hiking, Birding, checking out the Flora, riding a bike at 700 ft .Massages , facials , butterflies,... More

We stayed at the beautiful and contemporary Mashpi Lodge over spring break with our 2 daughters aged 14 and 17. If you are expecting to see large mammals or monkeys go to a zoo, this was all about a cloud forest eco-system with lots of interesting insects, frogs, and birds. We had an exceptional guide who spoke very good English... More

If you are looking for a lodge which is the absolute height of luxury - 1 hour's (bumpy) drive from any other habitation and surrounded by dense cloud forest with too much wildlife to even consider listing, this is the place for you. We (honeymoon couple - UK) stayed for four days which is the min that I would recommend.... More

Our stay at Mashpi Lodge was such a unique experience. The location of the lodge is simply stunning and to be able to gaze through the vast windows makes you feel part of the forest. The nature treks to see all the wildlife were just incredible, with the naturalists so obviously passionate about their subject. But Mashpi Lodge offers far... More

Anyone who has stayed in the usual 'Jungle Lodge' won't recognise this place as such. It is in fact a 5* Hotel sitting on a ridge, in the centre of a beautiful cloud forest. This fact is, of course, reflected in the price, it certainly isn't cheap, but for the unique setting, the food, the quality of the service, from... More

Mashpi: Mashpi Lodge is the most recent addition to Metropolitan Tour product. It is a large upmarket eco-lodge set in a 1300 hectare private biodiversity reserve from where one can enjoy the cloud forest in total comfort. There were teething problems typically associated with any new property such as staff training and finishing touches; however, the management was very receptive... More

We stayed for three nights in late September this year as part of tailored itinerary from Bales in UK. Mashpi is every bit as elegant as the photos on their website suggest. The building itself is a real star and, if I'd had an extra day I would have asked for someone to take me on a tour to explain... More
