We planned to stay for only one night but extended our stay for another night. This place and especially the location is extraordinary beautiful. It has a magical mysterious athmosphere and is very quiet and relaxed. A perfect place to relax and unwind after spending a few days in the bustling Quito. We had a nice room on the first... More

I do not understand the high rating at this hostel. Yes the location of the hostel is extraordinary, we have 3 beautiful days of hiking, the food is very good, 2 guys are very attentive and smiling but give 5 stars... I noticed that several comments came from people giving only 1 in 4 reviews. Perhaps that we were in... More

First of all I want to apologize for any inconveniences that you may have had while staying at our Eco Lodge. Also I want to thank you for all of your valuable comments and we will make sure to fix whatever is under our control. Yes, we are at a remote location and it is very difficult to get employees.... The Pululahua Crater itself is what made this trip so memorable. Gorgeous hikes, fascinating changes in scenery, mysterious fog curtains — the crater itself is not to be missed. Pululahua Hostel is also very nice. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi and the upstairs cards/game room. The staff is fairly nice & helpful, although the owner can sometimes be a little... More

We spent 3 nights at this hostal and didn't want to leave. We chose to take a taxi from Mitad del Mundo to the edge of the crater and hike down. The first view was amazing! The trail is steep in parts, so make sure you have good shoes and it's not raining. From the minute we arrived at the... More

Had a great time exploring the volcano. Very comfortable bed! We were picked up in Quito and Renato took us birding then to Mindo--he's a great birding guide too--then drove into the volcano in the dark. it was amazing waking up in the morning and walking outside to see the rim above us. THANK YOU

Wonderful location in the bowl of an extinct volcano surrounded by cultivated fields and then up higher a lush cloud forest, filled with flowers and exotic birds. This is a comfy little hostel with no swimming pool or fitness center but there is a flower garden where you can enjoy breakfast while watching the humming birds on a sunny patio.... More

Just reminiscing about my time in Ecuador and looked up this place as a reminder and so glad it is still going. Me and my girlfriend spent 2 wonderfull days here with Renato and his family (the puppies must be big now!! it was 2008). Thoroughly recommend the horse trekking to anyone of any ability. One of the most beautiful... More

I spent a few days in Ecuador on my own and included a trip to Pululahua and this hostal (in 2010). The area is beautiful and quiet. I had actually had the place to myself (did the 2 day/1 night stay with the Mitad del Mundo trip and horseback riding). The food was great, the hosts were nice and friendly.... More

I was headed to Ecuador on my own, and was looking for a peaceful, nice place to stay. Also, I was looking for a place that would have things for me to do, and a place where I coud just relax. This was the perfect place! Everyday, I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the surrounding crater. My daily long... More

Visit Pululahua Hostal if you're anywhere near the Mitad el mundo. Firstly the crater is massive as you drop ~500 m along the wall trail. The morning is best, this time of year, to venture on a hike. The lava domes are fairly easy hikes and provide a fantastic view of the park. Secondly, the hostal is as comfortable as... More
