I had a great time staying at PataPata. The staff are all supremely friendly and helpful, and all are bilingual, making it easy to get information when you need it. The breakfast was delicious, and they work with a local tour guide who gives the best walking tour of any city I've ever been in. Well done!

Nice little court yard is great to meet new travelers over a game of beer Jenga. I stayed here 8 months ago and had to return a second time for new years. I recomend this plance to everyone. It can be a little loud when people come back at night (door bell is loud and reception is right outside the... More

This place had the best breakfast I've had at a hostel yet: tea/coffee, fresh blended fruit smoothie, ham and cheese / banana & dulce de leche sandwich. The staff was friendly and helpful... but they did take FOREVER getting our rooms together. They let us in way past checkout time.

We stayed here in november 2012. The location is nice. Nice neighborhood with some nice restaurants and emporios. The breakfast was pretty good. sandwich with fruit and coffee/tea. However, the hostel is very noisy. There seem to be no silent hours. We stayed in the double room which is pretty much in the living room. Also the showers are not... More

I really dug this place overall. Its in an old, big house with lots of character both in the structure itself and with the design and decorations. The back patio is sunny and homey, the staff are really friendly and down to earth. The breakfast was an amazing step up from the bread with manjar you get everywhere else... coffee,... More

Let s start with the good things: The hostel is well located, the staff is nice, the shower had hot water, wifi everywhere not only in the lobby and they offer activities in the evening! Last but not least we liked the breakfast very much and for once in latin America you get more than just some old piece of... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. The Staff are really helpful and friendly. It's a good location on the hill- 30 minute walk or so to Pablo Neruda's house. Bathrooms are a bit grubby and the hot water was hit and miss. Also not sure when it became okay for people to switch on the lights in a share dorm at... More

I visited the Pata Pata Hostel in the middle of November 2011. It is a very welcoming, cosy, creative and familiar place where guests can feel really comfortable. The staff is more than friendly and openminded to talk with the guests also in a personal manner. Rooms are clean, they have a nice kitchen and you get everything you need.... More

So Valpo is an amazing colourful bohemian city and this hostel is all these things and more. The staff are amazing and the hostel facilities are fabulous! I arrived at 6am and was let in by other guests who were still up partying from night before (but thoughtfully doing this outside he hostel!) I slept on the sofa and when... More
