Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Small room, but the room rate is justified for what you get in this expensive city. You may not have too much space if you have a large luggage with you. Facilities are basic, but sufficient for your stay. Location is very good. Close to Clake Quay where night life is. It takes around a 5-10 min walk to metro station.

Great location with a walking distance to Chinatown, Clark Quay, Boat Quay, supermarket, shopping malls and KaYun toast (which is a famous and popular place to get a Singaporean breakfast etc). Good service and staff are friendly. No windows from the hotel room and no breakfast is available which can be nice to know in advance.

Agent told me we were staying in a Double Superior room in this hotel. GOOD POINTS: -Staff friendly. -Location central and close to transport links such as the MRT and Big Bus open top bus tours. -Was able to check-in early. -Air-con stays on when out of room. BAD POINTS: -No Window. -Extremely small room - unsuitable for two people. -One person had to get on bed to allow other person to open suitcase or move about. -Bedding damp. -Communal areas consist of a few tables and chairs.

The location of this hotel is great. It is walking distance to the MRT, Clarke Quay, Chinatown and Boat Quay. The rooms were surprisingly small and we booked the biggest room, but we were comfortable during our stay. The bed was super comfy, the staff very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again.

We traveled to Singapore last week, this is our first trip and we stayed at Hotel Clover The Arts for 3 nights. The hotel is located middle of the city, so very close to everywhere that we must visit, easily walk to China town that a lot of food. The room is a bit small but it’s understandable. Thanks for the guy at reception Mr.Frankie, helpful and kindness. Recommend stay here if you travel to Singapore ✈️🏩

This hotel offers single rooms at a very attractive price (< $100/night), especially for Singapore. With 3 of us travelling it was great to each have a little place of our own to relax in. Our single rooms had a shower, toilet, sink, single bed, and small desk. It was perfect for what we wanted. Excellent location. The Hotel is located a block from Boat Quay where you have every possible type of bar/restaurant to choose from and they all have outdoor seating along the Singapore River. It's also just a few blocks from Chinatown. You can walk to Raffles from here, or stroll down to the Marina district. No need for cabs unless you want to save time. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again if I'm back in Singapore.

The great thing about this hotel is the location. I booked the box room and it is as advertised - but be aware these rooms are seriously small - I just about got my large suitcase in! Another consideration, because the room is so small it makes the air con sound very noisy. Every morning in the shower room there were about 5-10 midges crawling up the wall which was pretty grim. I showered them off and that stopped them getting into the rest of the room. I then realised there was quite a few about the hotel so I didn't bother complaining. This hotel is one of my regret buys of my trip - the room, for me, was too small!!

This place can be easy to miss if you don't keep your eyes peeled for the sign that says "Hotel Clover The Arts" just outside the hotel. The hotel blends in together with the rest of the shophouses and can remain conspicuous to the uninitiated. The hotel reception is a very simple counter. After checking your identity, taking your credit card details, the key card is given with the wifi password access. The room which I was first given had an air conditioner which was too noisy. It's not a low hum, instead I could literally hear the running gears from the unit. The air conditioners are a tad old and should be maintained properly, if not replaced. I asked for a replacement room and was given quite promptly. The next room's air conditioner was also noisy but bearable. Not wanting to make things difficult for the hotel staff, I just let it be. The room was clean but small (12m2), which i had already expected when booking the accommodation. Many amenities were provided. Extra toilet roll, electric kettle, toiletries, toothbrush. The toilet was a little annoying as the toilet seat couldnt hold the seat in place and kept falling. The bedside light was also not working. There is an elevator which takes people up to the 5th floor. The table is really small and can fit only laptop with just a little space for the mouse. Location wise this is great as it's easily accessible by MRT, and there are plenty of food and shopping options. With Central Clarke Quay and Chinatown Point within 10min walk, this place is in a fabulous location. This hotel will be suitable for those looking for a no frills kind of hotel. Just beware of the noisy air conditioner and request for a room change if you given a room with one, unless you don't want to sleep well at night.

I like the location of the hotel, which is close to different tourist destinations, like the Merlion (15-min walk), National Museum and National Gallery (20-min walk). The room is clean, well-equipped, and nicely decorated. Air-condition performs satisfactorily. Staff is nice and responsive too.

I stayed for 12 hours over Christmas holidays while transiting because it was alot cheaper than an airport hotel given the season,. The location is great, right between boat quay and Clarke quay, approx 20-25 minute drive from the airport. The lobby and common areas look run down and not very clean, there was a sign up in reception asking me to call a neighbouring hotel on arrival, which I did, and was promptly met and checked in. The room itself was clean and tidy, albeit having no window, but perfectly satisfactory for a sleep and a shower. My gripe was the aircon. As is common in mid rate Singapore hotels it seems, no matter what temperature or fan speed I set the a/c to, it was completely irrelevant because the wall unit continued to do what it was programmed to do and barely put a whisper of warm air. I could barely get the room below 27 degrees - it took hours to fall asleep - in the end I could only sleep after draping a wet towel over myself. Because I’ve had this in Singapore once before, and the room was only $130, I didn’t complain. But the next morning I found the room was about 5-8 degrees warmer than the corridors, and possibly even 1-2 degrees warmer than outside, despite the aircon being set to its lowest setting. Not satisfactory.
