After staying in several hotels over staying six months in China last year, I avoided staying at The Opposite House to stay at Starwood Hotels in Beijing to earn points. I came back this week to TOH because each person I talked to who has been to Beijing recommended it... strongly. Now, I see that they are right. Although, the... More

The Opposite House is a beautiful, modern hotel that opened just in time for the Beijing Olympics. The lobby is like no other that I have seen: a living room atmosphere with no real check in counter but lots of competent staff ready to help you. You walk through the door and are escorted to a couch. Soon someone arrives,... More

Stayed here June 2011 and booked through Amex FHR program. Without asking had already been upgraded to a very large suite, in fact one of the largest rooms I have ever had. The interior design is not for everyone, but I really liked it: hard wood floors, the bedroom separated by sliding transparent curtains, wooden bath tub in the middle... More

I loved this hotel. It is different but it works thanks to the great staff. If you are looking for an escape from the dreary world of beige hotel chains then this is a great alternative. The pool is very good, the restaurants high quality and the decor unique. This hotel is fun, interesting and functional. I cant wait to... More

Always feels good to be back to the hotel after being out in the harsh weather in Beijing. Especially love the small bed turn down gift every night that makes me feel pampered. The best hotel I ever stay in Beijing except taxi is hard to get at night. More

My wife and I visited Hong Kong and Beijing on vacation, and after staying at the infamous Peninsula in Hong Kong, we were nervous about what to expect in the harsher-seeming Beijing. When we got into the city it was freezing cold and dark, and we were tired from a day of travel. So we were truly blown away upon... More

I’m a hospitality designer/ hotel junkie and I do enjoy sampling the guest experience everywhere I find myself. I like Beijing, but my stay was made even better with the Opposite House. The service, even when you arrive after midnight, was great and attentive. I had called for a clothes steamer for my suit and one appeared in minutes. I... More
