This was my first hotel in PNG. It was a bit overpriced for what you get. I think the prices have been inflated by the resources boom.
The service, food and accommodation were are ok.

We were forced into this place since Air Niugini had a "technical problem" and our flight was cancelled. I would never stay here if I had to. The hotel is rotten, linnen dirty and stained, so was the curtain at the window as well as the carpet. This the kind of place you keep shoes on all the time. Room...

Travel a lot in the Pacific Region and also a Platinum member of the Priority Club and may I say thatt this is the only hotel in the Priority Club Group that does not recognise you as a Platinum member. They should learn from Holiday Inn Suva in Fiji where they treat you as a VIP guest as part of...

A good, comfortable and clean hotel in the heart of Moresby. Views over the harbour and Ela Beach are good. Security is good. Food is good (but read the menu carefully). Gym equipment is a bit lacking, but OK (a new exercise bike would be good). Very expensive by international standards (but OK by Moresby standards).

Stayed 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza but could not sleep. Even though I was on the 7th floor, the noise (betel nut vendors, pedestrians, cars) from the motel across the road seemed non stop. Had strange people knocking on my door at odd hours of the night. Food is good but over priced. Ok hotel for business trips

Many thanks for your comments. The hotel is working with the local council in an attempt to have the vendors selling their items outside the motel mentioned removed. We will continue to pusue this as we are aware that this noise can make for a broken sleep.
Kind Regards

I have stayed in this hotel several times (most recently in Feb and March) and the only reason was its excellent location within the Port Moresby CBD. For USD350 per night, this is one of the most overpriced hotel I have stayed in for the standard of rooms you get.
In my most recent stay, image my horror when the...

Thank you for your feedback on your stay with us in March. I apologise for the issues you encountered when trying to get the water which you were entitled to.
We are in the process of replacing the hotel locking system which will eliminate the issues encountered with your room key. This will be completed by the end of July....

Summary:
Port Moresby Crowne Plaza is close to many office buildings in the centre of town. Staff are welcoming and helpful. There is only 1 restaurant now but a couple of bars. Priority Club status is recognised. There are Club Floors and a Club Lounge that has afternoon drinks and snacks.
Arriving at Port Moresby Crowne Plaza:
A free airport...

Hotel is fine, a little run down, large rooms with reasonable bathrooms, average restaurants, good security and a nice free bar with nibbles in the evening upstairs but $A450 per night! You must be kidding! I'm told it is the most profitable hotel in the chain and that it is permanently full. Shows how many alternatives are available in POM...

I stayed in this hotel for a week for business.
I was checked-in by a trainee assisted by a supervisor --- no welcomes, no smiles, they just went through the motion of processing my check-in.
You have to have a seriously deep expense account to stay here. Hotel room was 750 kina per night or around AU$290 (!) and excluded...

I suppose when you have little competition you dont have to try as hard. Now that oil and gas has ramped up there will be an increased demand for safe and branded accomodation and there is not much in Moresby.
Service on check in was poor, they didnt really make you welcoming.
Room was smoking although I requested non smoking....
