Cara Lodge in Georgetown is a very nice old wood colonial building with a great deal of charm. The staff are among the very best-trained in any service industry. They know how to make the guests feel welcome, and go out of their way to make them feel special.

The restaurant is good. The rooms are air conditioned--very important in Guyana. It is sort of expensive considering where it is.
