Beit Rumman is a lovely respite - though the bathrooms are on the small side but the perfect breakfasts make up for them ; more importantly, the staff and service are unparalleled, particularly if you are a non-Arabic speaker. HIghly recommended for their kindness and consideration.

Once entered inside the main courtyard, a lovely peaceful fountain waits for your and forces you to relax and keep the city hassle behind. You travel back through history and live the architicture of 18th centurey. Breakfast is organic, simple and fresh. Staff are hospitable and very friendly. Try to relax on roof top watching churches and mosques praying together.

Beit Rumman is a beautifully restored centuries old classic Damascene house, the rooms are ranged around a central courtyard with a fountain, each one different, with gilded mirrors and painted ceiling beams, Ottoman tiles in the bathrooms. Big wide beds, and grand old furtniture and a charm that is matchless in the MIddle East. Beit Rumman in the Christian sector... More

We came to Syria directly from Lebanon where our accommodations were mediocre at best. So we were pleasantly surprised at how lovely, friendly and perfect the Beit Rumman Hotel was. Our room was exquisite, with all the amenities one would hope to have in a top rate hotel. The breakfast was good. Best was the friendliness and helpfulness of the... More

We had a fabulous holiday in Syria in 2010. Damascus was the highlight of the trip, made special by our stay at Beit Rumman. The interiors are charming, the rooms are done up beautifully. Monira and her staff really took care of us. The location is in the old quarter. All the sights are within walking distance. We would definitely... More

Beit Rumman is a small boutique hotel, beautifully decorated and full of charm, and its staff are the most welcoming you could ever wish for. We used Beit Rumman as a base for travelling into Syria and Lebanon, and each time we returned it was like coming home. Thank you Ebrahim, Monira and Walid ! The hotel has only 6... More

Loved this historic boutique hotel in the heart of old Damascus. Situated on a busy street, but once inside an oasis of calm! Lovely central courtyard with fountain in the middle. Bedrooms beautifully furnished in traditional style, very comfy bed & spotlessly clean. Plentiful breakfasts with good choice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too... More

I love to stay in boutique hotels and Beit Rumman is one of the BEST! The hotel is gorgeous. There's a courtyard with a fountain, a wine bar downstairs, and a rooftop deck - so many places to relax with a glass of wine or a cup of tea. The rooms (we stayed in 3 different ones during our time... More

To date I have stayed at this hotel three times and if I return to Damascus again I shall not hesitate to book a room here. It truly feels like a home away from home. I am exceptionally meticulous about cleanliness and a rather luxurious bed and the Beit Rumman does not disappoint. Without any hesitation I give this hotel... More
