Difficult to review. Located in a hip area of Beirut in a quaint, pretty old building Hayete is a relatively peaceful place to stay compared with downtown and Hamra hotels. However, I think it's probably a bit overpriced for what you get. We were given keys via the driver who collected us from the airport and only saw the owner/manager... More

Spent a fantastic 6 nights in Hayete over the 2012/2013 new year period. Our room, the south room, was perfect for a couple, with a very chic bed and a cute little balcony overlooking the two restaurants below. Despite the fact that we did not see the owner once during our 6 nights, we were in email and sms contact... More

The guesthouse is situated above two restaurants in a very nice building. The four rooms are situated around a common sittingroom. Being the only guests at the time, we had everything to ourselves - only shared with the housekeeper and an angry bird in a nice voliere. Every morning a simple but delicious breakfast was made ready for us. This... More

The 2nd B of B+B is often very simple indeed - coffee/tea, fruit, starchy component. But at this lovely B+B in the Ashrafiyya neighborhood of Beirut it is so so much more: several kinds of bread, some mornings fresh baked mana'ish, others kunafa (still warm!), croissants, Arabic bread; fruit and jam and orange juice; laban (youghurt); olives and fresh vegetables;... My friend and I stayed at Hayete for 10 nights this summer. We loved touring beautiful Lebanon during the day and coming back to relaxing Hayete in the late afternoon/evening. The porch is a nice place to eat breakfast and read books during the warm days. The breakfast was light and enjoyable...I enjoyed the fresh croissants. Probably the best part... More

This was my first trip to Beirut, travelling solo to do a course; stayed here for 4 nights. I felt at home here from the first minute, it has a very homey atmosphere. I kept phoning Robert with questions and requests and he was always really really helpful, from lending me a travel adaptor to helping me to order take-away... More

As several of the other reviews have stated, if you are looking for luxury, this is not the place, but if you are looking for a destination with a neighborhood feel in an architecturally historic guesthouse, that helps you envision what Beirut was during the “Paris of the middle east days”, than this is the place for you. Beirut has... More

This is a guesthouse/B&B in a period building, not a bland highrise 4* hotel. As such, it has tonnes of character, every room is different, but if you need double glazing, concierge service, hairdryers and sterile surroundings this place isn't for you. What is is a place with friendly hosts, who are very helpful. They serve great breakfasts on the... More

We spent a week at Hayete and it was a great stay, one of the best we've had on our travels. Stayed at two different rooms and they were both wonderful and personal. The location leaves little to ask for and you're pretty much within walking distance from everything (otherwise there is a great reliable taxi company just around the... More

Hayete is a gem of a place. It is located in a beautiful area and the building itself is gorgeous. The hostel is so sweet and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It is located in the French Quarter and it is in a great location. There is so much around and we were only a walk away... More
