we spent recently 6 days in valide hotel " Osmanbey"..very very clean hotel,recently they renewed all the furniture, the staff was cooperative & keen to serve..alot varities in breakfast " from 8 am till 11am" & our suite was nice and warm..great loction 2 mins from underground..10 mins from taksim square & cevahir mall. great value for what you pay... A wonderful boutique hotel in the old city. Close to Topkapi Palace and Aya Sophia and right next to the city walls. Great staff, loveky breakfast - best to sit outside on the verandah with views over the Sea of Marmara.

We recently spent 4 wonderful nights at the Valide Sultan Konagi Hotel in the Sultanahmet( old city) section of Istanbul. Great location, about 5 minutes from Topkapi Palace and the Haghai Sophia. We had 3 days in Sultanahmet and then were off to Capadoccia for 4 nights before returning for Istanbul for our final 3 nights...BUT we didn't figure that getting a triple room would be a problem on Easter Weekend for a country that doesn't celebrate Easter. Wrong! Of course triples are harder to find, and Valide had 80 Euro triples... More

service is poor, breakfast is poor, hotel corridors rooms etc. everything is dirty nobody can speak english
