I stayed at the Surmeli Istanbul for five days. The hotel was undergoing construction and is a little bit noisy due to traffic outside. These short comings were more than made up by the friendliness of the staff especially Emre.

Good location. Bus station and taxi station is too close. But This is the worst hotel experience i have ever had. An ongoing construction kills u. Complaining is wasting your time. Rooms are nice. Beakfast is wonderfull. Nice bathroom but smelled. Do not stay here unit their constrution is going on.

It's not the most expensive hotel that I was in but it was such a comfortable one...! Really pretty and with great views at night... :) It's not very close to all the most important things in Istanbul but I tasted the real turkish life over there. Many local shops around and so on... Very easy to order a taxi.... More

1st of all a wrong location site loaded on the map, cause the location look like its near taksim square, where u should walk about 10 minutes to take the sisili metro and cross two stations to reach taksim square. also the towels in the bathroom smelled stinky, so i recommend to get your own.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed so far. It has an ongoing construction. It's 00:05 and the construction still continues. There is no silence at all. It's impossible to sleep. When you complain they do NOTHING. Do not stay here if you hope to sleep and get some rest at nights.

Stayed here as our 1st stop on our Globus Turkish Delight tour. 3 adults squeezed into a 2 single bed room overlooking a busy street. One person got a foldaway bed under the window. Hotel staff are very rude and unhelpful. Breakfast downstairs is ok but our Set Menu for our welcoming dinner was awful. Grilled Beef Steak.was 'rubber on... More

Two stays, booked in advance, were pleasant enough; however, the hotel is isolated and proved to be an awkward and difficult base for exploring Istanbul. Staff, particularly Business Office staff, were helpful and considerate. No language problems. Dining was acceptable. Would probably not stay again because of location.

This is quite an old hotel which requires urgent renovation. We stayed at a small suite at this hotel and found the AC not working at all. The hotel is also located far from the main attraction sites. If you are a tourist my advise will be to stay at old town area. Although the hotel claims to be a... More

Not 5 star maybe 4. At $200 aud you can do better in Accor Hobart. We started our Globus tour here but if you were wanting closer to Sultanhmet this is not at all near. Taxi will cost £20-28 from Galata Bridge eminou/spice market and public transport is 10 min to shishli metro by foot, then funikular taksim to kaablech... More

I was offered a suite from my company which was really spacious but very basic! Hotel definitely needs renovation. The rooms presented in the Hotel's site are only for one floor, which is the business center. All other rooms are very old, with old furniture. Breakfast was very good, even though too crowded and also located at the basement. Restaurant... More
