The hotel is cosy and has a beautiful restaurant located on the top floor which offers a breathtaking view of istanbul which I think is the hotels best feature: having breakfast while watching the sunrise over the Bosphorus was amazing. It's a short uphill walk to Taksim Square and maybe the only flaw is that the English level of the... More

I was staying there with my parents for a long weekend over Easter. Pretty basic, dated but clean. Staff appear to be rude but that's Istanbul for you. The biggest con was the noise from the restaurant coming from the floor above our room. We couldn't sleep as people were moving chairs, talking loud, etc. It was horrible and they... More

The Hotel Villa Zurich is located in a quiet, residential area Cihangir, an area where you'll find famous local and national artists and musicians. Centrally located, only 10 minutes walking distance from Taxim Square and the Galata bridge. A nice and friendly welcome at the small reception, going to any of the 6 floors, where you'll find decent and spacious... More

With the exception of the waiter in the breakfast room, the staff at this hotel were appalling - no manners, inappropriate attitude, pushy, rude behavior, in one case even seedy. They try to rip off foreigners by applying some sort of phantasy exchange rate to € and $, when artificially inflating pre-booked rates. The location is nice, but I have... More

I've read the other recent reviews and can empathise! I also saw the fire extinguishers holding open the doors and I would not call the lobby furnishing "antiques". Staff attitude with the excecption of one waiter at breakfast was awful - so rude and bordering on suspicious, and everyone smoking. But to their credit they let me have breakfast when... More

This hotel used to be fab but the owners have changed since I last stayed and it's now run like a village pension. The room was great- very comfortable and spacious. The corridors are shabby, stained carpet, fire extinguishers hold doors open on each floor. The staff are abrupt, unsophisticated and ignorant of international hotel standards/guest relations. The night desk... More

The only thing villa-like about this hotel is in its name. While the location in hip Chianghir, ten minutes walk from Taksim Square is ideal, the hotel is mediocre in every way. The breakfast was awful (limp vegetables, eggs that seem to sit around for hours, and bitter coffee), and the service was gruff and even rude. Most surprisingly, the... More

I would not stay at this hotel. Prior to booking, we read the reviews on tripadvisor - though they definitely warned us of getting 'ripped off', we knew that we loved the neighborhood (Beyoglu) and this was the only hotel we could find there. But the previous reviewers were right, this hotel 100% is running some sort of scam. Their... More
