Stayed for 5 nights in a very nice room overlooking the main strip. The whole hotel was spotless, with sparkling floors and the rooms were well decorated and reasonably priced. We payed $15 a night for our room with air con and hot showers. Staff were very helpful, only annoyance was they kept turning our power off everytime we left... More

We found this place by chance, all of nha trang was booked because of national holiday but the owners did not overcharge us and actually gave us a very good rate of 15$ per night for double room. The room was excellent, very clean, plasma tv, fridge, perfect ac and hot shower with good pressure. No curfue and very very... More

I stayed at the Sao Mai in 2008 and 2010 when it was a basic, somewhat tired hotel. It has been completely refurbished and has become a pleasant, modern and still affordable hotel ($15.00 in March 2013). The outside and lobby have been smarten up. The hotel now has a lift. The room I was allocated, was large with 2... More

The rooms are very nice and worth the money they charge. The staff however are devious and try every trick they can to extort money from people. We are pretty travel-wise so made sure we paid up front. We stayed for 1 night and agreed a price of $20 (very early check in during Tet- fair price) and said we... More

After a -couple of days they said that we had to leave the following day. Without no warning. This was cancelled however by the top boss. The day we checked out, they called from the reception at 10:50, and said we had to be out of the room 1 hour earlier, than the official paper said. Again without warning. They... More

We arrived at this place which is a 15min walk from the backpacker area, staff were friendly at first then decided after our first night to change our room price from $12 a night to $24 and wouldnt give our passports back until we paid this extortionate increase. Do not trust the smiling old women! Go elsewhere.

At this hotel we bought 2 tickets for the night bus to Hoi An for 10 dollar each. At the moment that our shuttle bus to the bus station was about to show up, the manager asked for 5 dollar per person more, claiming that his brother made a mistake when he sold us the tickets. When we said we... More

Stayed in this place in November 2011. Got a room with 2 single beds, ensuite, Tv for 10US a night. Make sure you get the side not on the street as the 1st room showed was on the street and very noisy. Made sure I changed so I could get a good sleep. The rooms are adequate but the place... More

As cheap as you'll find in vietnam, and you get what you pay for - or neglect to.  A $4 dorm spawning from a spare room converted to suit the burgeoning Nha Trang backpacker market. Security was a concern, having other tenants strolling through our room to use the bathroom. One's retort to our objection was, "what!? It's a 'dorm'!"... More

Good location, this hotel is cheap and cheerful. Rooms are basic but clean, most rooms seems to face outdated with a corridor running along the outside also, motel style. This means that there is little relief from the noise on the street below or music from the bars. A very thin unlined curtain is the only privacy between you and... More
