Stayed for 3 nights with my husband - we don't do a lot of yoga at home but were lucky enough to mainly be taught by Paul who was great, very thorough, showing even the regulars how they can be making the more out of every move. The rooms were really nice, very clean etc, beach was ok (not great),... More

I had very high expectations for Samahita and I wasn't disappointed. I stayed for seven nights on the Pure Balanced Living wellness package. The retreat is stunning, set in a beautiful location on a quiet beach (although not good for swimming). The retreat has a lovely pool, dining area, lounging area - the whole place is really conducive for relaxation.... More

Samahita is such a wonderful refuge and is absolutely worth whatever long flight you are taking to get there. I had about a 24-hour trip from Germany altogether, and it was definitely worth it for my two-week stay (anything under a week and a half would have felt too short for me personally). I went for Tim Feldman and Kino... More

Spend 2 yogic week with all the wellness terrapies. Great yoga classes good therapists. Great food, mainly vegetarian, great juice bar. Food n drinks really affordable. Very nice rooms and bedding, but pillows are too high and too hard ... but others may like that. Everything absolutely fitted my expectations. Samahita is south of the Koh Samui Island, so little... I stayed here for two weeks doing a yoga retreat. The place had been designed to give a beautiful tranquil environment to learn and practice yoga right on the beach. I liked the holistic focus not just on yoga practice but also how the retreat centre impacts on the local environment. They work to keep waste to a minimum. The... More

Just read the "disappointed" review and have to disagree strongly. Recently returned from a pure balance / detox break and can't praise Samahita highly enough. Such a lovely place and sweet, kind and caring staff. Food fantastic and the juice bar is open outside of the set mealtimes so additional juices / snacks etc always available during the day (for... It's nothing like the Grand Hyatt or W Hotel, but if you're looking for a place that offers daily yoga classes and a great beach in a simple, no frills format ... then this place is for you! The healthy fare served was absolutely delicious: there's a 'raw' section for those detoxing and lots of choices for vegetarians. Seafood was... More

Coming to Samahita Retreat I had pretty high expectations that the week I was spending there with my friend was going to be amazing. The truth was it was great until the last few days when several things happened that changed my opinion. First the good stuff - our teacher was fantastic, so lovely, made effort to assist all students... More

My girl friend, who is an excellent yogo teacher recommended Samahita for the both of us to go and stay for a week of sun, great food and yoga. My wife and I spent 3 nights at Samahita. She's a yoga teacher and I do yoga occasionally. We didn't do the retreat, but took part in the residential yoga on offer (twice a day). Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Samahita Retreat was established in 2003 on the island of Koh Samui, and has been called by many a "hidden gem". Owned and directed by yoga and lifestyle teacher, Paul Dallaghan, the center has been a location for practice, learning and holiday for literally tens of thousands of guests from all walks of life over the years.Samahita Retreat is located in the south of Koh Samui, right on the beach. It is in a quiet area off the beaten track, with plenty of privacy and comforts, yet still close to markets and amenities. The beach is virtually ours alone, many rooms have a direct sea view, while the surroundings are lush and green. Many of Koh Samui's special attractions are down the south near us, waterfalls to temples and more. A walk down our beach brings you to the golden Laem Sor Pagoda of a realized Buddhist monk, whose force has drawn us to be established in this special spot. All backgrounds of people join us here, whether yoga students, from beginners to advanced, those looking to lose weight and get healthy, regenerate from a stressful life to a holiday with all the healthy perks. It is the kind of place where someone traveling alone can meet people and feel at home, and where families can relax and enjoy themselves. (We offer many services for parents of young children, who might not have much time for their own time or yoga back home.) Even partners who don't do yoga or wellness find our setup perfect for them while their other half gets on with the yoga and treatments! In short, all are welcome. For your health and environment, Samahita Retreat is a smoke and alcohol free retreat center. ... more   less
