With it's amount of rooms, it will probably never full. For the price it's stil an acceptable place to go, if nothing else is free (since the hostels/guesthouses in the area with tripadvisor/lonelyplanet/roughguides recommendations are mostly full). The good points are large rooms, clean beds and toilet. We could leave our bags for the rest of the day at the... More

We had no reservations in Chang Mai and most of the small guesthouses were full. We ran across the Summit Hotel which is old and in the center of the old city. The room is large clean very plain, TV and air-conditioning. the hot water was hood and a clean bathroom. The bed was comfortable. Other than being old it... More

I stayed at the Sumit for six nights. It is a $5. room, but I felt I got my money's worth. It was clean, spacious, had a balcony to sit on, hard bed but I slept fine, and large bathroom. Staff not able to move you on to next destination so I used Family Tribal Trekking. Sumit is fine, you have... More

We stayed in the hotel for 10 days. Stuff at the reception was not friendly or smiling, but was not rude. Beds in some rooms are very hard, but after we asked for some other room. The mattress was just fine. No TV in the room, free Wifi only in the lobby. Place was clean, no bugs or smells. For... More

This is really a hotel, although it costs more like a guest house. There are not many amenities. The rooms were nice. the bathrooms were rahter small and lacked ventilation. Some decoration could make the place a sure hit. The location is good for transportation, food, massage, and laundry. The staff were very friendly. They have locked luggage storage for... More

We just got off a sixteen hour train ride from Bangkok and were very tired. We were harrassed by tuk-tuk drivers and felt kind of desperate to find a place to stay. The Lonely Planet made this place sound wonderful, stating that it's spotless and the best bargain in town. We found the staff extremely rude and abrupt, in fact,... More

on the positive side, it was clean, which was reassuring, and the bed was really comfortable. also, it was quiet, could not hear any noise from other guests on the corridor or in adjoining rooms. the bad things were; staff were unpleasant, brusque in manner + never smiled. there was no bar or cafe, just a hot water dispenser in... This hotel sounds like a great budget deal if the Lonely Planet is anything to go by. It makes it sounds like a traditionally styled hotel full of character. On arrival, we realised that this hotel was totally souless. there is nothing interesting about the lobby or the rooms whatsoever. They are bland and western in style. They are spotlessly... More
