We spent four nights at this adorable, charming guesthouse on the river. It is truly a gem. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and will help arrange tours. The pool is nice and the breakfast - which is included - is delicious! Fresh croissants and fruit and your choice of eggs and tea or coffee. It... More

It's not in the city center, but after you spend a few hours in the city center, you'll appreciate that. The backstreet location makes it QUIET, even during rush hour. The grounds have a lovely garden and the pool is great for a dip during the hottest part of the day (~12-3 pm). A bit more expensive than "rock bottom"... More

We just spend four days at The River View - and what a wonderful, little oasis it is! We paid 1,500 baht per night and that included a fabulous breakfast, so it was definitely great value. Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens and pool. The hotel is filled with books, antiques, flowers and homey artifacts.... More

We have just spent a week in this peaceful guesthouse, sheltered from the hustle bustle of the busy city. The guesthouse is 27 years old and the owners live in the adjoining house. The house and garden are filled with a collection of antiques/collectibles/junk -- really charming -- and the garden has hundreds and hundreds of interesting plants. There is... More

The best part of this small hotel was breakfast in the garden overlooking the Ping River. THe rooms were spacious and clean but without charm. The pool was a little too heavily chlorinated, but still refreshing. The hotel is near the the historic part of town, but at the end of a lane, so it is quiet. The hotel is... More

We have stayed at the River View several times over the years of visiting Chang Mai for loy Kratong. We like the location and put up with the fireworks to experience the festival. Has nice gardens, Run by a famiiy it is basic by todays standards. No TVs in the rooms, spartan furnishings. The current problem is that they are... More

Beautiful airy guesthouse, the rooms may be a bit Spartan but are very comfortable with a large bed and a small balcony overlooking the River, a great place to enjoy an aperitif before hitting the town for one of the many eateries. We particularly liked the tranquillity of the garden bordering onto the river, the atmosphere of the terrace we... More

Agree this is a great find. Mrs Dang goes to great length to please guests and the one small glitch in our room was fixed before we got back to the room! A nice quiet setting though the nearby construction is a mild distraction, this is a lovely oasis in easy walking distance to the night market and the weekend... More

This unpretentious hotel is centrally situated, right on the river and close to the night market and other attractions. It is set in a very nice garden with a nice pool. Breakfast is served in the garden and is quite adequate. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They arranged a river cruise for us, the boat picking us up... More

This hotel has a huge, gorgeous garden courtyard with a nice pool next to the river. You can buy a beer and drink it in a gazebo looking out a the river at sunset. The rooms are big and nice, and the hotel is a short walk from the night market, which is fun. The staff is also very friendly.... More
