Lovely tidy house and a massive garden. Came here with family and friends for my 21st birthday and no complaints at all. Loud music allowed, great car parking spaces, everything you need within the kitchen area.
Would definitely stay again!

I had to create a listing for this new hotel as the people running it were so kind and helpful during my stay and I couldn't fault it.

The hotel rooms were quite funky and had double beds or modern bunk beds and flat screen TV's and lots of storage space.

During the time I was staying at the hotel, I fell and injured myself (my fault!) and broke a pane of glass in my room. The hotel staff could not have been sweeter. They came and helped me at 1am, dressed my wounds, found me another (deluxe!) room to stay in and spent the rest of my stay asking me if I was OK. They cleaned the room of glass and never asked me for any payment for the damage.

I stayed in 3 different types of room. The first was the room with bunkbeds, which was quite cool and far more modern than the more expensive hotels I had been staying in in the same area. I also stayed in a deluxe room, which was more spacious and had a nice big double bed and I stayed in a suite at the end of my trip - which was slightly bigger than the deluxe room and decorated to a higher standard with nice views. Also if you have the suite you can sit on the roof on the sun loungers during the day.

The hotel offers very cheap internet which I spent many hours on and it has a great, reasonably priced restaurant. I arranged a 3 day trip to Koh Phangan through their travel desk and a day trip to Ayuthuya (the lady at the travel desk had heard that the food provided on the trip was not great so she arranged for me to be given a meal to take with me, free of charge!) which were cheap and perfect for my needs.

By the time I left, I felt sad to be leaving behind my new friends at the hotel. It was the perfect little haven away from the chaos that is Bangkok! It was also ideal for me as a single woman traveller as I felt completely safe and it was only a short walk from Khao San Road. The one problem you may experience is that no taxi driver knew where it was because it was so new. The taxi driver from the airport was fine, but just general taxi's through the city I got to take me to Khao San and then I walked back to the hotel. I did this very late at night sometimes and never had a problem.

I highly recommend this hotel and I hope that it does really well :)

I have visited the Banglampoo area several times due to the fact that my mother's family live there, and I have stayed in many hotels and hostels in the area.

This has honestly been the best hotel for me. It may not be the most chic, or trendy but one thing that is fundamental for me in a hotel is cleaniless and silence (so I can sleep). OK it's located on a main road but in comparison to hotels on Khao San or even hotels parellel to Khao San...Diamond house is like a Franciscan Monastery. If you like hearing pounding music until the early hours, being woken by drunk guests trying to get into your room or constant noise during the day...look else where. If you like sleeping, Diamond house is for you. The value for money is great too. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

If you like partying and getting into the thick of it, Diamond house is for you. Khao San Road and all it's delights are a mere 5 minutes walk away. On the way there are loads of little food stands which I recommend you try, the food is cheaper than in Khao San and this is what Thai people eat, as long as the food is piping hot your stomach should be ok.

DOWNSIDES: There is no elevator until the 3rd floor, this could be problematic if you have mobility issues, drunk or have a lot of luggage. The bathroom and the bedroom is divided by smoked glass...be sure you're comfortable with your travel partner because you'll see, smell and hear everything they do in the bathroom. Also some taxi drivers had problems locating the hotel, it's a good idea to print out the directions in Thai that they provide for you on their website, one taxi driver could call the hotel for directions and drop us off no problem.

But all in all, I'd recommend staying here.

We stayed here for two nights and paid cash on arrival although we had previously booked back in England and secured the room using our credit card. After the two nights we flew to an island where we tried to use our card to withdraw cash but the bank had blocked it and when we rang them they explained that the diamond house hotel in Bangkok had tried to take a transaction of £5,000 and then a further £2,500 (sterling) but both declined.

The staff were dodgy and I would STAY well CLEAR unless you want your credit card cloned or used!!!!!!

Be warned!!!!

When I first arrived the hotel, just before I entered the lobby for the check-in, a local woman approached me and offered me to have "good time". I politely refused and entered into the hotel.

Few hours after I checked in, I received a phone call (to my room), and was extremely surprise to find out that it was the same woman that approached me in the street before...
She even knew my room number!

I hang up, and immediately contacted the hotel reception. The lady at the reception admitted that she gave the room number to this woman and apologized.
Per my request, they also moved me to another room on another floor.

A day after, someone knocked on my (new) room door. And who was it? Yes - it was the same woman!
The hotel reception gave her my new room number! and yes, even allowed her to go up to my room!

I don't know if this is lack of professionalism, Irresponsible behavior of the hotel employees or maybe something else, but the bottom line is: if your personal security and privacy are important for you, you should not stay at this hotel.

Tal.

P.S
If you do want to know about the hotel itself, I would say that it isn't that close to Khao San road (300-400m walk), and the rooms are extremely small (and I stayed in their top level room).

I am going to be as honest and as fair as possible in this review and giving it 5 stars does not mean this is a 5 star hotel, the 5 star represents what you are getting for the cost of the room, which for us was £17 per night per double room. We were holidaying in pattaya were in fact we were staying in a high end hotel and decided to visit Bangkok for a few nights, we booked the hotel through booking.com the night before. On arrival the hotel had all the correct details and there was no issues with check in. They do ask for a 500 bhat deposit for the room key, which we were prepared for after reading other reviews, they have clearly had issues with lost keys previously. We were shown to our room which was up 1 level from the reception. The room was small and I mean small, but it appeared clean and for me that is the main thing (please remember the price of the room and they use the space very well). We had a deluxe room, which I think is a standard room, we had 2 beds in a bunk bed style however each bed is bigger than a UK standard single so if u can't bear not to sleep beside ur loved 1 u could use 1 bed. However we choose to take full advantage of the space. The beds are a little hard however this is to my liking and I slept well. The room has a fridge which is fully stocked with drinks and snacks along with a price list, u get 2 bottles of free water a day the norm for Thailand. For those girls with grooming needs there is a hairdryer in the room. We had air condition which worked well and actually could get a little cold if u left it on all night like us. The shower and toilet space was a reasonable size, we both took long showers on arrival and the shower itself was powerful and there was no issues with hot water through out our stay. The room did have a TV but we never had it on so can't say if it had English speaking channels or not, however I couldn't imagine u would be in ur room long enough to watch TV with so much culture to soak up on ur door step. We had WiFi signal in our room (203) and there was no issues with connection in fact I made a WhatsApp call from the room back to the UK and had no problems. However I can not speak for other rooms or levels as I did not venture past our landing. In saying that if u do have connection issues there is comfortable seating at reception if u need to use WiFi, the fact u get free WiFi is a bonus for the price. The staff were pleasant enough, no they did not jump to attention on entering the room however they fulfilled our requests with no issues, remember u are not paying 5 star price don't expect 5 star standards. We had breakfast included in the price which was unbelievable as we would pay £17 for 2 breakfast alone back in the UK. Unfortunately due to partying too much we missed breakfast, but I am sure it would ve been delicious going by the smells from the kitchen in the evening. The creme de creme of this hotel is location it is perfect, about 5 min walk from khao San road (a must for a night out) however far enough away from the hustle and bustle to get some shut eye. U could walk to a lot of sights, however we decided to get a tut tut around, which would be my recommendation.
If you are looking for a big room, 5 star service, no WiFi connection issues through out the hotel I suggest u dig deep and pay the price instead of paying for a 2-3 star and expecting 5 star service, which I feel a lot of the negative reviews are doing. However if u are looking for a Base that is clean and functional and also cheap this is ur hotel.
Where ever you stay in Bangkok the place will not let u down, nothing will prepare u for what the city has to offer.

For me if we return to Bangkok no doubt about it, we will revisit diamond house - happy travels.

I thought this hotel was fine for the price. The location was very good - we mostly took taxis everywhere we needed to go but most of the rides were quick and cheap enough. The hotel is not near any of the public transit options - subway or Skytrain, so be prepared to walk, take a taxi or learn the bus system.

We were on the sixth floor of the hotel. We never had hotel noise, although the traffic noise was loud. We put white noise on our cell phone and always had the a/c blasting so that drowned it out enough. The room was small, but comfortable.

We had plenty of hot water at night for showers, but hot water was difficult to come by in the morning. The water would cycle between warm and cold. If you want the room serviced you have to turn in your hotel key and let the staff know that's what you want. Otherwise they won't do anything to your room. That didn't bother us, but we did have to ask the staff for more toilet paper and bath gel.

They also require a 500 baht deposit for the room key. You get this back when you check out. However, this was our last hotel before leaving the country, so it was a bit nerve wracking to know we had 500 baht to spend at the very end. We ended up taking a taxi to the airport and negotiated a 500 baht rate with the driver, so that took care of that.

The staff wasn't incredibly helpful in terms of helping us plan our days so we handled all of that on our own. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but we always went out for our meals. There is a great restaurant down the street that we ate at nearly every day. Jenny Restaurant is to the right as you walk out the door of the hotel, walk two blocks then turn right again. There are four tables outside with plaid tablecloths. Great dinners and breakfasts that are very cheap.

Overview
This is a very good hotel that is close to the old city and attractions but is quiet at night . We stayed here a couple nights in mid October and then again in early November
Positives
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. For $ 30 USD a night for a double room I feel this is good value. Even though the hotel is only about 4 blocks from Khao San road and a 15 minute walk to the Grand Palace, it was very quiet at night. Their breakfast is a bit pricey compared to what you can get down the street, but it is convenient.
Negatives
Room sizes are small and both rooms we used were rather poorly lit. It was too dim to read a book at night in the room. Also, both room had beds that were the hardest we encountered in South East Asia.
Summary
Would I stay here again? Probably, although I may look around and see what the alternatives are.

Booked this hotel because it advertised a rooftop jacuzzi. Arrived to discover it doesn't open until March 2012. Very misleading.

I strongly recommend against booking the superior room. They're tiny, windowless and have a very strange smell.

Changed to a deluxe room which was ok. But for the price of $45USD per night, there are many better hotels in the area. Try Nouvo (New World) Hotel which is right next door or Sourrire Hotel near the victory monument.
