If you have time and money and don't know what else you can do in Nepal, you can come here at least it is listed as a UNESCO site, but don't expect you will see any animals or rhinoceros easily. We stayed in the former Chitwan Tiger Resort which was now named as Island Jungle Resort as we were told... More

The so called resort is not a resort at all. It resembled and felt like a budget guest house. The rooms were basic with bathrooms that had old moldy commode and sink. The blanket had a hole in it. The curtains were not clean. The food was average. We expected a nice buffet; instead a medley of stuff was dumped... More

This place has definitely has its pros and cons. In a short list: Pros: - helpful staff - good location, nice garden - quiet cottages (at least farther from the central building, eg. restaurant); having mosquito nets on the windows :O) - lots of interesting programs (at least for 3-4 days) - has some locally generated electricity in the middle... Let me first clarify that we are not westerners expecting a 5 star accommodation, we arrived there after spending 14 days in tea houses in the Annapurna circuit. We just want to get what we pay for. Let me also say that that the rooms seem to vary from OK to really terrible. be wary where they put you. We... More

My son and I came here from Kathmandu for three days in the jungle before heading to Pokhara to begin our trek in the Annapurnas. Since this is a jungle lodge, our expectations were correctly set for a rough-and-ready semi-roughing it experience and we had a blast. The rooms were basic but clean and tidy, the food was hearty, the... More

Very poor value for the money! We shared this impression with all people we talked to during our stay. We paid around 170 USD for a "2 nights, 3 days package" which is in fact 2 nights and 1 and a half days there. We didin't care about spiders. even snakes (!) and rats that we found in our room... This resort is located in the park and so anticipate basic accommodation. The resort is older but the rooms were decent and have their own bathroom with a cold shower and flush toilets ( a luxury in Nepal!). The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the animals and plants. The true super stars at the resort are the elephants... More

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 2 week family trip to Nepal with our 10 and 12 year old. Very well organised activities (guided walks, boat rides, elephant safaris, elephant bathing) in the heart of the jungle. Staggered by the negative comments for this place. If you are wanting a 5 star spa resort go somewhere else!... More

Decent accommodation in the Jungle. Clean rooms with very hot showers, and "western" toilets + toilet paper (real luxury in Nepal!).

Reviews on tripadvisor raised some doubts as to whether I should stay here. Just came back from a three day trip to this resort and it was fantastic! People writing negative reviews probably expect a five star resort in the middle of a jungle, which it is not. However, if you take into account that you are staying in the... More
