Trip 20-22 Jan 2012 was not too great from weather point of view (foggy) but hotel staff made it really interesting and pleasant. We were able to spot few wild animals including rhino, crocodile, etc. and some birds and flora. The Flora and Bird guides were very smart and knowledgeable. Elephants are great too. Kudos to the elephant masters. On... More

Five friends and I stayed 3 nights at CJL in mid Nov. The facilities are fine (clean rooms, but not luxurious; good food, but not gourmet). The morning and evening elephant excursions to look for rhinos and tigers were excellent. We saw rhinos and heard a tiger roar, but didn't see one. There were excellent programs on Tigers and elephants.... More

The Chitwan Jungle Lodge is truly and wonderful experience for anyone. The lodge feels wonderfully remote, a welcome change if coming from the crowded smoggy streets of Kathmandu. The rooms are clean the beds comfortable. I was a single traveler and they were very happy to accommodate me in every way. The activities are perfectly spaced and appeal to a... More

Brilliant place particularly because of the staff who are very important on this sort of trip. Harka the naturalist is incredibly knowledgeable and charming and is very dedicated to the welfare of the forest and its wildlife. Santo the manager goes all out to make your stay as pleasant as possible and is really good company and is a dedicated... More

Located within the eastern part of the Park, the Jungle Lodge certainly feels remote. Rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Even on sunny days, the shower water temperature is cool. Lodge facilities feel a little tired. Food generally good and service from lodge staff very attentive and nature guides were wonderful company. Biggest disappointment is that Lodge manager denied... Had a wonderful stay at Chitwan Jungle Lodge which is located inside the national park. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. There is electricity provided in 2 hour slots; early morning, lunch time and evening - timed to coincide with activities. A kerosene lamp is provided in the evening. We had hot water for our showers (although it smelt slightly... More

The best thing about this hotel is its location in Chitwan National Park. The rooms are basic but clean, and really, if you want to stay here, you are going to be more interested in the animals and scenery that finding 5* accommodation. The staff are helpful and friendly and the food is fantastic. More

It seems some customers (like one from Australia) are looking for ***** hotel servives in a jungle and asking changing towels every day. Horrible view. Tiger is not bringing for your breakfast table as you wish, and ecolocigal things should be normal for travellers. This is not Sydney zoo. Reijo Härkönen, Finland More

Dear Reijo, Thank you for your review! We always have to be mindful of what our guests want, but we also need to balance it with our aim to be eco-friendly. I am glad you understand the value of visiting National Parks for the environment as a whole, as a place where everything is in its natural habitat. Thank you... More

Saw many animals - including Mom and baby rhino! Only disappointment was not catching a glimpse of the tiger that we were on the hot pursuit of for an hour on elephant back - exciting nonetheless! Very friendly staff. Great Nepali dinners! Rooms and showers were not the highlight but that is not what we were there for. More

Thank you for your response. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your time at Chitwan Jungle Lodge. We cannot guarantee animal sightings, however, on average, more than 90% of our guests are able to spot a rhino or other big animal during their stay. Since our hot water is dependent on solar heating, sometimes it is not possible... More
