The rooms are dreary and not the best maintained, but staff is friendly and the water is hot. Food can be missed. Don't bother with the buffet breakfast- it is a waste of time!better to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning and head pm the street to the penguin for food. Overall, a god choice for a central... More

We stayed in Nirvana garden for 8 nights by the end of April and first week of May. We had one double room and one triple( a double with extra bed). We all enjoyed our stay in Nirvana for the spacious rooms, kind and helpful staff and beauuutiful garden. The location is also good. It's in the heart of Thamel... More

We stayed with my family over here in double bed room. The stay was good as we spend most of our day out sightseeing. The hotel has good location to its advantage, the rooms are small and old and carpet needs serious cleaning, the furniture is old and just there without much use. The bathrooms are old but good supply... More

this hotel is not very cheap but in principle fine. it lies in Thamel the tourist district of Kathmandu. We had a room with own balcony in the extra building, which was nothing special but in general fine. the breakfast was not included but actually for the price we had to pay not really recommendable. it was really nothing special... Dear carl81, Thank you for reviewing our hotel. Our objective is to give our guests the best value for their money & this is one point that one should consider. We do not know what you had for your breakfasts but during the busy Spring & Autumn season, a good spread of buffet breakfast is laid out every day comprising... More

Finding a reasonably priced/ conveniently situated and peaceful hotel in this part of Kathmandu is not easy. The Nirvana Garden fits the bill. Rooms are comfortable in a vaguely shabby way. Hot water is plentiful. Staff are pleasant and helpful including the domestic contingent. The gardens are lovely in a rather lost and neglected kind of way! No problems at... More

I would recommend Nirvana Garden unreservedly, as a peaceful and nurturing place to stay in the middle of Thamel. The staff are all welcoming, kind and helpful; the ambience is pleasant in a slightly rundown kind of way - but then, much of Kathmandu (even the so-called top-notch hotels) is like this and you get used to this aspect of... A lovely decent hotel offering piece and quiet in the middle of crazy Thamel. Helpful staff, decent free wifi. Stayed there before and after trekking and I couldn't have wished for a better accommodation. And let's not forget the decent and hot showers.

Spent almost two weeks at this hotel and would highly recommend it. It is not a 5 star hotel, but for the very reasonable price it is excellent, and most important, it's true - they do have hot water all the time. In fact, we had to add cold water because the hot water was too hot sometimes. The hotel... More

I just spent a couple of night in Nirvana Garden again, I can highly recommend this hotel in the center of Thamel. The location is ideal for the ones who want to visit Thamel and the sights around Katmandu, the garden is a small oasis of peace in the middle of the hussle and bussle of Katmandu. I would recommend... More

Nirvana Garden has many of the pros and cons of nearby hotels: no elevator, barely warm water, slow wifi limited to the lobby, but reasonable prices. however, it stand out thanks to: a classy decoration, if a bit outdated larger rooms (I compared with the nearby hotels) and most importantly, a location a bit away from the road, which is...
