We recently stayed at the Eco Resort before and after a trek.. Our second visit to the hotel in the past year. It's clean and comfortable.. Try to get a deluxe room because that will make all the difference between a good stay and an average one. It has a nice courtyard garden and bar area to relax in. Beware... More

I stayed in thamel eco before and after trekking. The location was great, you can relax from the chaotic thamel streets, but the shopping area still in walking distance. The hotel has a little garden inside, nice place to hangout with some beers (: The room was clean and comfortable. They also have rooms with shared bathroom on the 4rd... More

We stayed at Thamel Eco Resort in a Deluxe Double and were very happy with the room and service by the staff. We initially had a standard room on the 1st floor, which we found noisy as it was outside the restaurant/bar seating area. After advising staff at reception, they happily changed us to our requested deluxe room for our... More

My son and I recently stayed here for a few days but were very grateful for the peaceful haven it provided. My son was a wee bit culture shocked with Dubai but was very appreciative to emerge into the civilised and very quaint setting of Eco resort. The service was very helpful and welcoming and they were to lengths to... More

I have never been to Nepal before, so it is hard to compare this experience to another. We only stayed in the Thamel Eco Resort in Kathmandu prior to our trek and after. Our first room was poorly lit and small, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was an all-in-one scenario, but we did have a hot shower,... More

I am thankful to have called Thamel Eco Resort home base for an extended stay in Kathmandu. The rooms are pleasant, elegant in there simplicity; the staff gracious, welcoming and easy to communicate with. The walk, to the end of an alleyway, to Thamel Eco Resort is a lovely transition from the frenetic pace of Thamel, to the retreat of... More

Its worth paying the extra 10 USD for a deluxe room with a comfy double bed. The hotel was very well staffed (very friendly & helpful staff), Very clean. Reasonably priced bar. Excellent food. Buffet style breakfast - very varied choice. Very good, cheap buffet dinner and a la carte menu. Take earplugs (noise from other rooms & dogs barking... More

Yes, the electricity is intermittent, along with the hot water, but that is Nepal for you. By Nepalese standards this is a very nice hotel. The garden area is lovely and it's a good spot from which to explore Kathmandu before your trek. The staff were all very nice too. I would stay here again.

We stayed at the Thamel Eco Resort for two days prior to an Everest Base Camp trek in early April and one night towards the end of April. The room the first time was small, just enough space for two single beds and little else and up on the fifth floor, one very small non opening window and when the... More

We stayed here three nights before our trek. Our room was comfortable and we were able to have warm showers. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was in the back and our windows faced a residential area so it was relatively quiet at night apart from the barking dogs. We had ear plugs so it wasn’t too... More
