a wonderful Castle located in a superb place in Windhoek. It's the best hotel in Namibia, for sure, not crowded, high quality and good atmosphere, wonderful staff and service, and on top of all that and the amazing building, the restaurant is unique with a wonderful chef and a wide selections of wines from the wine cellar.

Relais & Chateaux (R&C) have a large scale of hotels belonging to their chain, some are more Relais (simple hotels), some more Chateaux (luxury hotels) – and the Heinitzburg is more a Relais. This just as a first remark, as you need to know what to expect! In other words, a charming place but do not expect 5-star luxury in... More

The manager or the Hotel owner are never there, the staff is friendly, friendlyness is good but good service should come first. Food is good, the service is bad. It is not a luxury hotel, the rooms safe is tiny, beware of flood when having a shower, most probably the architect only uses a bath-tube in his lifetime. The decor is... More

This is a very nice hotel set on a hill overlooking Windhoek. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. It is relatively convienent for a long-ish walk into downtown. The restaurant is nicely situated for an evening of al fresco dining. Service was good if not great. If you are expecting Relais et Chateaux service and amenities that you would... More

Ah ! the Relais et Chateaux chain of hotels tends to get hotel owners that belong to the group go a bit gaga. Rooms are nice, comfortable, well decorated and the view, as well as the food, are really good. But we are in Namibia, not in some castle along the Rhine Valley or in an estate on the Cote... More

We went to this place 3 times recently and each time it has been a pleasure. The cakes are fantastic and the views from the open air terrace are incredible. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. We also went there for our son's birthday. He wore a "knight's costume" and the manager was friendly enough to escort him to... More

This is a charming hotel. The rooms are well furnished, clean and well equipped. It's position perched overlooking the city makes it a great place for a sundowners on the terrace. The restaurant, Leo's, has an excellent chef but unfortunately one or two of the staff let the whole experience down. We arrived for our dinner to be greeted rather... More

I am writing a review of the Heinitzburg open air terrace restaurant not of the hotel itself - only the hotel is listed on Tripadvisor. This is a delightful place with sweeping views of the ever expanding city - ideal to enjoy a late light lunch or tea any time in the afternoon until sunset. The light lunch menu is... More

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip in Namibia. The building is amazing being an old castle. The rooms were very modern with squeaky clean white bathrooms. However, the way the shower enclosure had been installed meant that the floor was sopping wet after a shower. Everything else was of the standard it should be in... More
