Fes is a long way, on any dimension you can name, from the US. Culturally, linguistically, chronologically, Fes is distinct from normal everyday American life. So much so, that even though I love to travel, I was a little nervous about visiting and staying in the Fes medina. As a stereotypical American, I’m monolingual and the idea of actually staying... Our stay at the Riad Idrissy was perfect in every way. First, the Riad is just gorgeous. There are little details everywhere that are just fascinating; even on the third day as we were waiting for a porter to come help us with our bags (which Robert arranged for us), I was still just looking around and noticing new things.... On my recent return trip to Morocco, 3 days in Fes was apart of my 2 week itinerary. Since Fes is widely considered to be the creative mecca of Morocco, it was important for me to stay in a riad that was authentic and oozing of Moroccan handicrafts. I actually had another riad reserved, but I came across Riad Idrissy... More

The riad is stunning, the location is perfect for exploring Fès, and the hospitality is unrivalled - Robert really goes the extra mile to ensure you have a great time. And don't even start me on the food - pickled tomatoes that explode in your mouth with the sundowners, and perfectly seasoned, authentic Moroccan fare. I strongly recommend asking for... More

We came across this place by chance doing a walking tour on a Sunday. We met the owner Robert and decided to have brunch there (even though it was 2:30pm). Robert was charming and friendly, the food was delicious (home smoked salmon, capsicum salad, chocolate pudding etc). The garden was lovely, cool and green with soft live gnawa music in... More

When we walked into Road Idrissy, we went 'WOW' It is beautifully restored, decorated and spacious but still personal. Robert, the young charming English man who runs Riad Idrissy is as helpful and considerate as can be. We took his recommendation of having a driver meet us off the plane and an evening meal at the Riad which happened to... More

The three of us had such a lovely time staying with you; we all agreed that you made the holiday for us. When you go to a strange new culture, to have someone point you in the right direction, help out with luggage logistics and buy bus tickets, on top of cooking two delicious dinners and providing an absolute beautiful... From the moment I arrived, Robert and his team made us feel absolutely welcome. Every detail of my entire stay was attended for, from breakfast served to my room every morning, to the evening's social itinerery. An incredible setting to experience my 40th birthday!

Our stay at Riad Idrissy was a real treat, from the home cooked food to the fantastically warm and attentive host, Robert. We were met at the airport by a taxi and delivered to Fez with minimal fuss, where Robert had arranged for some locals to help us transport our luggage through the bumpy maze of the medina to Riad... We simply loved our stay in this beautifully decorated Riad with top-notch service by our lovely host Robert. The room was up some very steep stairs as in all traditional Fes buildings. It was spacious, beautiful and quiet. The Riad has several common areas that you can enjoy including a delightful terrace overlooking the garden-in-progress as well as a killer... More
