My husband and I stayed one night in room 206. The place is extremely clean and close to campus. The breakfast was excellent. This was a two night business trip that turned into a pleasure trip because of the Iowa House. The room had all the amenities I hoped for, plus more. The staff was very attentive and professional. Nice enough place and location to Iowa State Campus was good. Breakfast was average to below average, amazingly small portions and one morning most of the yolk was missing from my egg, nothing special. Bed was comfortable but heater was noisy and couldn't turn completely off to cool down room, Staff was friendly.

Beautifully decorated, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was average but totally credible. Fresh fruit, country potatoes, scrambled eggs and ham, orange juice with very good coffee. The Iowa House is one of my favorites and I plan on booking it in advance for my trips to Ames. We were lucky to get a room on the 3rd floor of this bed and breakfast which had a loft for our extra guest. The food, service and hosts are so accommodating- thanks for a great experience.
