In the end of April I stayed at the Steam Train Hotel on Main Street for one week. When I got there the room was very clean and also decorated with tons of neat little "antiques." The service was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. (Jen and Victoria were awesome!) The hotel is located right across the street from two fantastic... More

We made our reservations in August, 2012 for two nites in early October, 2012. We were immediately charged for both nites. We requested late arrival. We called early evening the day we were to arrive - once again confirming "late arrival". When we arrived at about 10:00PM, the place was completely DARK. There was no one on duty. After three... It's like living in a very old flea market. The rooms are above the lobby with an outdoor stairway, 1 1/2 stories. We were "upgraded" to a suite. Would hate to see the other rooms. The hostess showed us our room & left, never saw her again. We booked in Aug. for an Oct. stay and our credit card was... More

Be very suspicious of 4-5 "dot" reviews for a 100 year hotel. Any 100 year hotel not just this one. As previously stated, something must have happened in the 6 months from 12/2011 to our stay in 6/2012, not even close to a 3 dot review. Agree the people are nice enough, but the place itself is not ready for... More

We had a great stay at the 1911 Steamtrain Hotel last weekend! This is the second time that we have stayed there. Jeff ROCKS! We can't wait to go back again.

While traveling through Colorado on a trip to visit my mother I came to a quiet little town called Antonito. My day was long and driving became a chore, so I kept my eyes open for a place to stay the night (not being picky just a place to rest. In town a tall red brick building stood out in... More

Booked this hotel after reading the reviews. We had a very negative experience, not the one others seem to have had. The wastebasket was full in our room when we checked in. The sheets were thin. The beadspread had obviously not been washed. One bed was missing a top sheet. The stove did not work. We asked if we could... More

We were taking the Cumbres & Toltec train and decided to arrive the evening before (from Colorado Springs) rather than have to get up very early. It was a fun experience. The hotel was locked up when we got there but the owner had left a cell phone number on the door and it was easy contacting him. He was... More

My wife and I stayed two nights at the 1911 Steam Train Hotel with another couple in late August. Cliff (the owner) has done a nice job renovating and updating the rooms and providing a comfortable communal area to get together for coffee and/or drinks. We stayed in room #1 which is the only one that faces Main street and... More
