Our stay at Aldan was fabulous. Room was neat and clean each time we come back, and the owner as well as cleaning staff were extremely kind and helpful. The location is great, with the supermarket just opposite the hotel.

Picton is a very small place and I should think it's impossible to get lost here, but this must be one of the closest places to the ferry - less than two minutes by car. The room was clean, the service fine, there's a supermarket immediately opposite, there was free wifi, no problems here.

We booked at the Aldan through a deal with the Golden Chain, which has given us excellent value all around New Zealand for studio rooms with kitchen facilities. The room set up suited us very well and we appreciated extras like being able to borrow, rather than hire, a DVD. We spent 2 nights there happily.

From arrival at Aldan, I found I to be a straight up "no-non-sense" motel. The great thing about NZ motels they now what is required friom them they just deliver. In Aldan's case with a smile and a friendly smile. I would have no hesitation in going back and back and........ back.

I have stayed at Aldan Lodge many times on the way to Wellington and I keep coming back for the fantastic service and very comfortable rooms. The proprietors are extremely friendly and helpful and I like the large beds and very clean bathrooms. I would fully recommend Aldan Lodge to any traveller.
