We were looking for a unit for ourselves and young family to stay overnight in Picton. Located in Wiakawa bay which is a short drive from the Interislander, we found it a very tranquil place to stay with a world class view in the morning with the sun rising over the yachts in the bay . Spotlessly clean and modern,... More

Wonderful waterfront full apartment with outdoor patio, full kitchen, seperate bedroom and living room a few miles away from the hustle of center Picton. Incredibly kind and knowledgable manager. We stayed 2 nights and toured Marborough Sound by Mailrun which is very worthwhile and then hiked some of the shorter trails. My husband and I loved the area so much we... More

Wonderful views of the water from our lounge room and an extremely peaceful setting. Great place To stay nd unwind. The mAngers were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were spotlessly clean. Our only small gripe is the wifi which didn't work from our room. It meant we had to go outside for intermittent service. A small inconvenience for... More

Nice view. Clean and well equipped kitchen. The furnishing is on the older side but the whole place is clean. The couple that run the place is nice and helpful. Close to central of town. They are very flexible too as I changed my date of stay on the morning we were suppose to arrive due to bad weather. They... More

We stayed over Easter and were very happy to be given their last available room. The room was great! Nice big bed that was very comfortable and am awesome view to wake up to. The couple that run the motel are very friendly and seem to do all the work themselves. Everything was clean and in good condition. Would definitely... More

We are North Islanders on a month long tour of the South Island. This small, clean and well presented motel is quietly situated right at the waters edge at Waikawa Bay and all seven units have uninterrupted views of the Sound made even more pleasant by the variety of small vessels moored in the bay. Just 5 mins drive from... More

Motel with great views and nice lounge chairs to enjoy it. Stayed in March 2013, unit 1 and 2. Units: First impression of unit 2, 1-bedroom; a basic motel, but bonus points for the gorgeous view, the nice terrace chairs and table and the ipod speakers. Super bonus points for the lounge chair on the terrace and the detachable/hand held... More

Instead of just by-passing Picton en route to North Island by ferry, we chose it as a place to relax for three days and were not disappointed. Good reviews sent us to Bay Vista where we were greeted warmly and shown a choice of comfortable and well-equipped rooms, all with separate bedrooms and large attractive living spaces overlooking the pretty... So pleasantly surprised by our night spent at this peaceful motel whilst we waited to take the ferry home the following day. All units certainly do have the promised bay view and what a pleasure to enjoy it from the specious patio area, thoughtfully provided with its own sunlounger as well as table and chairs. No need to eat indoors... More

We stayed here for 2 nights recently in a 1 bedroom apartment with a fantastic view over Marlborough Sound. It was comfortable, well-equipped and very clean. The kitchen had a small oven and a microwave, which was very handy. It is a five minute drive out of town and is very peaceful. The shower was the best we have had... More
