This was wonderful place. It's clean, comfortable, and in an ideal location if you need to catch the Cook Strait ferry the next morning. The common areas make it easy to meet and talk to other travelers if you're in the mood, and the bedrooms are cozy and well-appointed. The views from the large windows on the front of the... More

I stayed here on a couple of occasions and I liked it overall. It has a certain charm to it and feels very homey. It is clean and comfortable and its location is lovely and peaceful. Not ideal if you want to be right in the centre of town, but it's not an issue to get there. Again, it all... More

Let me start by saying after this vacation and this being my first vacation I have stayed in hostels, I prefer a little more luxury. We arrived at about 8:30pm, Stefanie left a note for us and a key to the place. I only saw one person there when I arrived and she helped me find my note and key... More

It's true that the place could do with a little updating, but Steph more than makes up for this. Very kind and helpful. The home made bread is lovely first thing in the morning. It is a bit of a trek from Picton and there are no nice reasonable eateries nearby, but Steph is usually more than willing to drive... More

Although Stephanie the host was really helpful and lovely, we were a bit disappointed at the age of the interior and the dust - sounds harsh but we had to sleep with towels over our pillows as we woke each morning coughing and sneezing. The location we thought we were getting was a direct bay view but in fact there... More

worth travelling that bit out of Picton for a very comfortable stay with fabulous views and facilities. Steph is very dedicated to provide a clean environment that fits your needs, and makes you very welcome, even when you arrive soaking wet! The communal areas are spacious and well equiped, as is the kitchen which offers great views over the bay.... More

Made us really welcome, felt like a home rather than just a place to stay. Great atmosphere with lots of interesting people to talk to. Picton itself is a wonderful location to explore the Marlborough Sound, which is a marvellous introduction to the South Island. The walking tracks like the Queen Charlotte Trail is nearby and the wildlife in and... More

Run by a very nice lady this lovely little homely place is outside of town but just around the corner from a stunning bay that shows all Picton is about. With a warm fire and good facilities, there are canoes or just books depending on your needs - clean, tidy and well priced - highly recommended.
