I had the pleasure of spending a night (sadly only one) at the Onuku Farm Stay Hostel, and I would recommend it to anyone! As long as youre prepared for it being a bit out of the way (approx. 10 min drive to Akaora - load up on groceries before hand) you'll have a great time. Several stunning walking and... More

I stayed here two nights, as the hostel was closing down for winter season i had the whole bunk room for myself, with ensuite bathroom! This place is soooo lovely, located in nature, peaceful and quiet. Fireplaces and cute kitchen blocks, even hot water bottles to keep you warm. Very clean. The staff is so nice, not like a hostel,... After several cold nights in a tent, we decided we wanted a bed for once. We only stayed at the farm for one night, but it was great. The hostel itself is so neat! There are three kitchens, one of them is outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stay in what they called the "Tonga Hut", it... More

This hostel might not be everyone's cup of tea but our family loved it. The scenery is spectacular and the staff and guests were friendly. We went out on the dolphin swim from the farm and had an amazing day - only the cold water stopped us staying in the water all day. lot's of dolphins swimming around, saw plenty... More

We are somewhat budget-conscious travelers. An accommodation for us is just a place to get a nice warm shower and a comfortable place to sleep. We don’t need a lot of space, either, as each of us only has a carry-on backpack & a personal bag. Because of this reasoning, we believe that a budget of less than $100/night is... More

We loved our stay here. We stayed in the main house and had a queen bed. The toilets were (1) inside, (2) outside. Two indoor kitchens, and a big outdoor kitchen. The staff is wonderful. This was a cozy, warm environment. We loved hiking for hours on the owners' land with views of Akaroa Harbor, the ocean, and farmlands. You... More

What an amazing place, stunning view, beautiful walks, very attentive stuff. The lounge is warm and cozy. You get warm slippers provided to run around the house. We spent one of our nights in the Stargazer, a wooden tent and it was very adventurous, listening to the night sounds and having a spectacular view at the night sky! But warm... More
