Our stay at the Intercontinental in Budapest was absolutely wonderful. The staff were extremely helpful and polite; the room was great with the most amazing view of the Chain bridge and the Danube. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location; you could easily walk around and there is so much to see and do. I would highly recommend... More

In May we stayed in there, my husband & I. We asked for a hint of direction as we stepped out of the metro station. It was about 5 min walk. It has a great location, everything around is great for tourists. Staff were helpful and friendly. Great view over the river and the castle. I just loved taking pics... More

I spent 3 nights at the InterContinental Budapest and the location couldn't be better. I had an issue with the air-conditioning in my room. After 2 nights I was moved to a Danube view room, which was fantastic. Great views over the Palace and Chain Bridge. While the breakfast was not as good at the Sofitel next door (where I... More

It was NOvember and five of us friends met from 2 countries, converging on Budapest just as they opened the Christmas market and hung decorations all over the city. The market had local food and all the "fair" food you get in winter - sausages and potatoe, hot apple cider - you name it. it was fabulous and booths with... More

You can not go wrong with this hotel, river view is must or stay in different hotel. 25 for breakfast per person is too expensive, you can do better on your own. Be sure you take a taxi to Remiz restaurant which is one of the best in town. River boats take of in front of the hotel, take a ride to Visegrad... More

Perfectly situated, close to everything, but expensive. Ask for a large room with a river view, it's worth the supplement, particularly at night, with the castle, citadel and Chain bridge illuminated. Excellent buffet breakfast. Adequate service, albeit slightly impersonal (shy?), except for the concierge and the doormen. The restaurant and bar are obscenely expensive, although the terrace bar is pleasant.... More

This hotel was where we stayed as part of our tour - great location right on the river next to the Chain Bridge.
