Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The room is clean and the beds are Ok. Perfect for young couples/students to stay a night or two. The Mrs. on the reception was kind and helpfull. They even have parking available for just 50 CZK (2€). For this price range a very good accomodation.

I don't normally write reviews but I think this hotel has a really unfair deal in the reviews that I've seen. Yes, it's not perfect, and yes, it's a bit dated, but if you're the kind of person who gets upset by a bit of chipped paint I'd recommend paying more for somewhere else. If, however, you're not too fussed and want somewhere friendly, well-located and good value then I'd go for it. PROS - Breakfast is great! Yes, it's a bit weird they serve fanta instead of orange juice and it's not the best I've ever had, but it's a good selection with a decent coffee machine. If you don't like it, you don't have to eat it, but I thought it was really nice. - Hotel location is fantastic, you're super close to everything with just a short hop on the tram or a 15-20 min walk. - Staff are *really lovely* although I found a little bit of Czech is really helpful. Every interaction I had was thoroughly pleasant. - Price! I paid around 33EUR/night for a single room with private bathroom (albeit down the hall) for three nights in August - and with breakfast included. - Size of the room was more than adequate. CONS - The mattresses are pretty thin, but it's not like sleeping on a rock and after the first night I didn't really notice it, in fact it was probably good for my back. If you really can't stand a sub-par mattress, stay somewhere else. - Quite a bit of traffic noise during the morning if you wanted a lie in. - The Wi-Fi is patchy but in their defence it's a large building and they have installed multiple routers to try and fix it. I'm sure they'll get it right eventually but if you are working from there you be prepared to hotspot. - No desk in the room, sadly - would have been useful for work. MYTHS (things I saw on reviews that just weren't true in my experience) - The décor is, admittedly, a little dated, but here's a news flash folks - you don't have to live there. It's a little weird but I found it quite fun. - The hotel is not infested with pests. I think I saw one ant on my windowsill. - They don't serve mouldy bread at breakfast. - The staff are helpful and really nice, although you may have to be a little creative if you speak no Czech at all. Basically, it was grand. I'd stay there again and would recommend it to people for the price that I paid because the cost:quality ratio was excellent in my book. However, if you're going to get upset about not having the best mattress, chipped paint or looking at some slightly weird decor for one weekend I'd recommend going to a chain hotel and paying more for it. Honestly, the only thing is the mattresses - I feel a lot of the bad reviews could be solved by fixing that.

This hotel is the worst place we have stayed ever. The first night, we found a live mouse in the room, and when delivered to reception, they didn't seem to care much about it. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, with the thinnest maddress we have ever slept on. Breakfast was the best part of the stay, and on it's own, it was uninspiring at the most. Cleaning was horrible. We used the "Please make up room" sign, as a lid on the glass we caught the mouse in, on the first night, so we couldn't ask for cleaning the second day. Cleaning on the third day, apparently meant emptying the trash, but no making up bed, dusting or vacuuming. Third day - we stayed in, so cleaning wasn't done. Day four, the cleaning managed to vacuum, for the first time since arrival, but our dirty glasses that we placed on top of the trash can, was still not changed, but just set aside, to empty the trash. Parking was a race for parking spaces every afternoon, and with no restaurant in the hotel, we could not get parking when we had been out to dinner, and had to spend an hour looking for public payed parking. We checked out two nights before our stay ended, with no refund other than our deposit, that we had to argue for, as cleaning had noted that we shouldn't have it back, because we apparently had been too messy in the room? And the prepayed fee for our dogs, for the remaining nights. All but one af the staff knows little to no English, so communicating about our complaints were difficult at best.

This is a terrible hotel! Dirty, dirty, dirty! A careless, despicable owner, interested only in money, but not on in the quality of the services! The bed mattresses, the bed sheets and blankets, pillows all with horrible spots! The TV was about 25 year old and not working! The internet was barely working and only at the main floor, but not upstairs, in the room! We asked for these to fixed, but they just promised and did nothing! Breakfast was poor both in terms of food quality, diversity and amount. Just avoid this place! It just ruined our stay till we moved out before the end of the booking dates. At least they did not argued with us and paid back the difference when we decided to look for another place to stay! Don't do this to yourself! Just 2 min walking from this hotel is Hotel Omega, which we decided to move in after leaving this garbage place! Hotel Omega is just gorgeous, clean, comfortable and pleasant at a similar cost! Reconsider!!!!!!!!

The hotel seems to be located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood but that is where the positives end. The rooms, carpets, furniture, layout, amenities and bathroom are very very outdated - very 1970s communist era feel. The shower and sink has hot water though. The room was decently warm at night (it was end of May/spring). The breakfast is just ok. The hotel is located a good 10-15 mins walk from the main station and you can also take the tram. The city centre is close by and is just a 10 mins walk.

When I pulled up at this hotel and entered I was very impressed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and comfortable with air conditioning. It was cleaned daily during our 4 day stay. There was a big selection of food on offer at breakfast as well as fruit, fresh waffles and cakes. It was my partners birthday on the Monday if which we never mentioned. However, when we came back later that day there was a cake and a candle in a plate with Happy Birthday scribed in chocolate, and matches to light the candle. It was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The hotel was situated close to tram stops that took you directly into the old town egg. I would recommend this hotel. My only criticism is only 2 cartons of milk left in room enough for one drink each. They did however give us more when we asked.

I was stuck in Brno without a place to stay, and this was a hotel nearby where I could get my own room for relatively cheap and an inclusive breakfast. It wasn't amazing, but I was there for only two nights, and wasn't really looking for luxuries, so it suited my needs just fine. One thing that was undeniably frustrating, though, was the wifi. It was really poor quality and it was frequently driving me nuts. But other than that, it wasn't so bad. Just go in with low expectations and you'll be fine.

Stopped here recently for the Brno MotoGP. The hotel is ideally placed with quick access in/out of Brno to the motorways and it's also very close to the central areas of Brno city so getting the free shuttle bus to the track is a very simple task. The parking is brilliant too - secured at night time. The staff were tremendous - very helpful & friendly, and there is free wifi available in the rooms (slow and unreliable), however thats where the good stuff comes to an end. The rooms are from a time-warp back to the 70's - worn, old, incredibly uncomfortable and certainly not worth the £110/night for 2 people including breakfast that I paid - for 4 nights! The beds are laughable - its not a bed, its a park bench with a thin covering on top. Never before have I tried to sleep on anything as uncomfortable with the exception of the floor. The bathroom had a shower that you had to hold - no bracket to hold it to the wall at a sensible height and it was dim and claustrophobic. No bath at all. There was an extractor fan in there that sounded like it ran on coal - we couldn't use it as it would have woken the entire hotel. There was no A/C, no tea/coffee facilities, no restaurant, no bar (that we could find anyway), the lift wouldn't pass any health and safety check in the last 3 decades and the breakfast buffet was a buffet breakfast in name only. Cereal choice was cornflakes or ... cornflakes (but there were 2 boxes of them). The term 'buffet breakfast' conjures up wonderful mental pictures - dont get fooled - this is the smallest, most restricted buffet you're likely to have. Orange juice? no - this was fizzy orange soda, coffee? - yeah, but its instant stuff out of a bean-to-cup looking machine. If I'd paid £20 / night I would have been more understanding about the lack of quality and appalling decor/comfort but at £110, I'm absolutely shocked.

We stayed in Hotel Pyramida for the Czech MotoGP, they provided a time schedule of the 400 bus that takes you directly to the track, which stops no more than a 7 minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast is nice, as are the staff and the location is fine for walking everywhere you may want to see in the city. The Wifi is like a kid playing with a light switch, on and off, however we were on the top floor, perhaps it is better for those lower down. Yes the decor is old, but it isn't really a hotel for spending the whole day inside, as it gets very hot (no aircon) and the sign for the hotel out the front shows 2 stars, keep that in mind before your expectations get too high. The economy rooms do not have their own private bathroom, so the Standard room is better for those that want one. We arrived in Brno by Train and got off at the Brno Dolni Nadrazi, you need to catch the 60 bus to the stop Kridlovicka. Then you walk towards the big intersection and go right past the stadium to get to the hotel. If I were to come to Brno for the MotoGP again I would look for other hotels, but probably end up booking Hotel Pyramida again anyway.

Nice place near the center with low prices. The best thing is very kind and attentive staff, which resolved every problem I had. Good breakfast included. If you have a business trip it is very good option for housing.
