This hostel was OK, there was a cool bar there which was the best part about it and the neighbourhood it was in had a whole lot more cool bars (with very cheap beer!!!) scattered around everywhere. This was definitely not a touristy area so I would likely not have come here if I had stayed somewhere else in the... More

My partner and I stayed here for one night before moving onto a (pre-booked) hotel.. First impressions were very dark and smoky.. Staff were very friendly and helpful! The room was very very basic. Two singles pushed together with thin mattresses and even thinner walls! Free WiFi in the bar which was fast and reliable. Definitely keep your valuables on... More

Stayed in late October 2012. Initially booked for two nights, but extended to 7 after falling in love with both the city of Prague, and the staff and atmosphere of the hostel. Most friendly, down-to-earth and welcoming staff my friend and I came across. OK it's not five-star luxury, but for their low prices what can you expect? Our room... More

Me and my partner stayed here for 5 days in a private room with an ensuite. It was a 5 person dorm room with two beds pushed together but I didn't expect anything else. The room was basic, shower had good pressure but runs out of water completely after half an hour (okay for 2 people but not for it's... More

This hostel is great if you are travelling on a budget, reasonsably prices rooms, and very cheep breakfast and drinks in the bar. Free Wifi and access to computers which is useful. Staff are excellent and extremely friendly. The downstairs bar is a great place to meet other travellers or there are plenty of other bars and restaurant nearby.

The Clown and Bard has everything you need as a backpacker. Overall there is a good vibe, very friendly staff and fair prices for a bed and something to drink. When you wake up in the morning, (with or without a hangover) there is a nice, cheap breakfast waiting for you. If you should be in the situation of not... More

I've stayed here for 3 days on mid september 2012, and I didn't got dissapointed. The room was very large and clean, beds weren't bad, breakfast was OK and staff was very nice. The only minus is the distance for city center. If you want to go walking, you'll take about 25-30 minutes to reach the old town square.

I'm glad I got to write this review as I didn't think I would get out of there alive. It is always a great moment when you are sitting reading the reviews of the place you stayed in and the word 'rape' is used. I think the photo's of our room speak for themselves, I only wish we had got... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our hostel has been on the map since 1995 and still just as young in spirit and focused on our guests’ satisfaction as the day we started. With an international staff motivated by building new friendships and promoting a lively atmosphere, it is easy to consider this place a home away from home.We are located in Žižkov, which is just three tram stops from Václavské Námestí (the heart of Prague’s center). Žižkov is known for being the most socially diverse area of the city, making a short visit quite comfortable and in some cases worth extending. For those travelers on a budget yet still wanting to experience the culture of the local people, this spot is a gem. Žižkov has the highest number of bars in the city and there are a variety of beer gardens, cafes and restaurants with both local and other ethnic cuisines to enjoy. ... more   less
