We spent two nights here as part of an escorted tour and it was probably the least favorite hotel of the trip. I was initially excited as they had a 2012 tripadvisor certificate of excellence posted but it really didn't seem to deliver. At the most this is a three star hotel...the rooms seem to have been fitted out in the 1970s, the service is appalling - rude, slow etc. but worse than that is the poor hygiene standards...cracked porcelain the bathrooms, cobwebs in room corners, broken light fittings, chipped crockery... It is comfortable and affordable, but not really four stars, more like three. The beds are not real comfortable, but even worse, the sheets are scratchy, The help is helpful and the breakfasts are good and ample. Found this hotel on Trip Adviser enjoyed our stay. Large room, god size bathroom and very clean. The lady at the desk was very helpful, The underground transportation is only a short 5 min. walk and took using everywhere we wanted to go, town square is a must, shopping is fun, local food was delish.

I was made to feel very welcome at the diplomat by the staff, who were most friendly and accommodating. My room was very comfortable and clean and the location was very handy indeed. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. Thank you to all at the Diplomat!
