My wife and I stayed in Bristol for 8 days until 14th August. The building looks beautiful but that's all good things I can say about this place. No working air conditioner at +30 outside. Always dirty bathoom, delapidated spa area. The food quality is abysmal, we got salmonellosis and keep suffering for three days now, the reception were unable to provide us with any medicine (even Paracetamol!) or call doctor. Never again we'll get fooled by its pretty look. Vsovetkin@hotmail.com

Perfunctory. Bad: Service (e.g. 30 mins check-in in non busy period) Staff (not trained to good standard) Food (industrial approach) Execution (not enough towels in room, no water in room etc Good: Architecture Cleaning staff must have good at their job Not recommended - didn't really tick any box

The main feature of Bristol Palace is the beautiful, impressive building it occupies, in one of the highest point on the "spa" side of the river in Karlovy Vary (don't underestimate the slope, especially if you are carrying some luggage), not far from the main colonnade though. The place has history and character and one can see it right from the outside. The main building is part of a large compound that includes smaller hotels and places for spa treatment, all connected by a maze-like underground system of corridors and lifts. I had a nice, large room on the top floor with amazing view. The room was clean but it surprises me that in a hotel of this level the blankets are not replaced daily - they were simply folded and put back on their place, all crumpled as they can be after a night sleep. Very strange. The common areas are beautiful, even though some things were not running due to the still slow restart of the touristic season. The swimming pool has nice water tricks and the Jacuzzi is truly comfortable. The staff was overall good: top marks to Cristina, the friendly, smiling, multilingual young lady at the reception, and to the gentleman at the swimming pool. The bar and breakfast room was waited by quite nice people even though with limited language skills, the night receptionist could do with better manners though. The breakfast was good and abundant, they changed the cooked offer regularly, but the absence of a coffee machine for cappuccino or espresso is totally unacceptable for a place of this level. I had to order cappuccino separately, a person had to go to the bar and do it for me and charge me for the pleasure. Truly weird. Also, the hotel could make a better use of the beautiful park, where a bar service would fit perfectly (one can order from the bar inside and get some drinks outside, but there were very limited seats outside). I suppose that these things probably run in a smoother way when the hotel is full and there is probably more staff too so I don't complain. Overall a good place, but with some few easy corrections (a coffee machine, for example...) it would be perfect.

Found the waiters and waitress at breakfast almost rude. Could not eat Breakfast over looking the view of Karlovy Vary plus plates taken from the table before you finished and you were made to feel eat and get out. For a 4+ star hotel the breakfast was not as good as some 3 star hotels that i have been too. The swimming pool was to cold to enjoy a swim and even the Jacuzzi was not as warm as other Jacuzzis i have been in. Considering this was Easter weekend there was only 1 steam room working. On a good note We stayed in a suit and can say this was great. Very spacious and beds comfortable. Overall disappointed for a hotel that could be so great.

Good afternoon, thank you for your feedback. Pay attention to all that you noted and very sorry for the inconvenience. We invite you to a sanatorium stay (for example 5 nights) in our building in order to evaluate the full range of our services, since first of all we are a sanatorium.

Hotel Bristol Palace sits in a perfect position on a hill about in the middle of the historic part of Karlovny Vary. This means that you are in a very short walking distance to all the historic Spas and other places of significance, if you don't mind climbing a few steps uphill. The advantage of the elevated position is that you enjoy beautiful views from all rooms of the hotel plus an environment less cramped in space and less noisy than is the case with most of the hotels down in the valley. The hotel occupies one of those beautiful, historic fin-de-siècle buildings for which Karlovny Vary is renown. It is beautifully restored and modernized, perfectly clean throughout. The 1-bdroom suite in which I stayed had generous space and was tastefully endowed. I would say it's on par with the luxury of suites I have seen in Intercontinental hotels. So everything seems perfect ... except that the business model of the hotel does not really fit for offering a luxurious stay. Bristol Palace belongs to a group of several hotels assembled around a secluded private hotel park and connected to one another as well as to a spa and clinic run by the group. Most of the guests (already in their ages) seem to undergo a course of treatment over a longer period of time. They are given certain privileges such as having reserved tables in the restaurant/breakfast room in the wintergarten with beautiful views. As a short term visitors I was seated in the crowded area along the buffet table. The quality of the breakfast and even more so dinner reminded of a recreation home rather than a luxurious hotel. The receptionists I met during my stay were nice, helpful, and fluent in English. Yet getting a call at 8 am from the receptionist asking at what time I intedended to check out later the day is perhaps also not the style of a luxury place. All in all, thus, a mixed bag of experiences. Nonetheless, because of the perfect location and the really very beautiful rooms I would choose the hotel again.

Here is something interesting - you come to the one of the most prominent hotel in town due to his filmic history and it is quite a looker: Habsburg opulence, thick soft carpets, guilded details, fantastically equipped rooms with separate bathroom and WC and whicheverside your room is on, you wil be blessed with a unique view over the city. But, one can't help but asking - why are there so many nice sitting corners outside of the hotel, with round tables, chairs and shade, when the bar is practically never open? Having coffee outside is practically impossible, unless you take a cup from the breakfast room. Now that we mentioned the restaurant, the guests are not allowed to admire the view over breakfast because it is "only for lunch and dinner (cadsh paying) guests". Mind you, the rest of us has paid as well. Breakfast is also not spectacular for such a place and there are no warm things to eat! Wild boar pate yes, but no scramble eggs for instance. One would also think that a pricey hotel would invest in a decent coffee machine, but - nay, filter brew is the only thing you'll get there.

we called in here after driving around the town and this hotel looked great. The room was fine, breakfast was good and service excellent. There is really a number of buildings that make up this "complex" and they have tried to connect them with a tunnel system. More like a rabbit warren!! We got lost twice trying to get back to the main building. The spa area is down one of these tunnels and is very hard to get to. Lovely hotel and staff but I think there are far better and more economical options in the town.

Nice hotel, dedicated for treatment! It is a part of a Bristol group, which consists of 5 hotels. All of them are connected with the underground tunnels, so you can reach each one in the bathrobe and slippers, which is essential and typical. The treatment facilities are located in each hotel, besides Villa Livia. Generally you have the treatment procedures in 3 hotels and have to travel inside 3-4 times per day. 3 times per day you have to drink a mineral water, prescribed with the doctor, located in Bristol hotel ( not a palace). Restaurants are in Bristol and Bristol Palace, so all visitors have to visit them 3 times per day. Springs are numerated from 1 to 15, Bristol is the closest to the springs 12 and 15. George House is located in the middle and is the most convenient for treatment and visiting the pool and fitness.
