This historic hotel has plenty of charm but lacks a little in comfort. Book on the ground floor because the stairs are a nightmare to carry luggage up. The breakfast is only 8am to 9am, which is no good if you sleep in or want an early start. The refurbished rooms are nice but the creaky floorboards means you get... More

My partner and I booked a little getaway package with room for 3 night stay, hot buffet breakfast each day, dine-in meals at their restaurant (2 nights) and a 3-day blue mountains explorer bus ticket. This was for a very reasonable price! The rooms are a little old, but clean and as I am allergic to dust, I know if... More

The Metropole Guesthouse is perfectly located in the centre of town, just across the road from the train station and less than a minute to the main street shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The building has gloruous old world charm furnished to an era long gone. That also means it's all stairs for upper floors however this is a tiny... More

My Wife and travelled from Singapore to attend a relative's wedding in Katoomba recently, we booked 5 nights online at the Metropole. The location was just perfect as we didn't have a car, the guesthouse is just across from the station and round the corner from the town. we found our room very well appointed, clean and comfortable . We... More

Value for money: We paid just under $100 for a Friday night for a Double Room (with Sofa) which is pretty good for Blue Mountains prices, from memory is was similar price to getting a double room with private bathroom at the Blue Mountains YHA. Breakfast is $15 pp but we didn't eat there. There's lots of nice cafes on... More

Myself and two children stayed three nights at the Metropole Katooomba during the school holidays. The guesthouse is lovely olde world building right in the heart of Katooomba town. We booked a package which included meals which I think is a less expensive way of taking children on holidays. The meals were delicious and the staff really accommodating to the... More

We were staying in Katoomba for just 1 night and did not make reservations ahead of time. We had checked out two other properties which were dismal! We arrived at the Metropole and looked at a few rooms. They were not incredible, however, they appeared clean. We worked out a deal for the last 2 rooms available in the hotel... More

Adequate. A beautiful old building but bed was small and creaky. Everything was clean and tidy but certainly nothing special. Breakfast was again just average and we had to eat early as they wanted to finish by 9!! Great potential but not quite there.

We stayed a night at this place and it was really cute and nice. It is very clean with an old fashion vintage feel to it all. The staff were really nice particularly as we didn't realise reception closed early on public holidays. They phoned us to tell us & left a key out for us with clear instructions on... More

My wife, myself and my young child have been travelling around Australia for the last few months. On arriving in Katoomba we had a recommendation to stay at the Metropole. The Metropole is a guesthouse in the heart of Katoomba, it has a warm, inviting atmosphere that we really appreciated after a few months travel. The reception staff had good... More
