Pauline and Sonny were wonderful hosts who welcomed me warmly and went above and beyond to assist me during my stay in Nelson. My room was comfortable, spacious, and immaculately clean with furnishings and facilities of a high standard. I greatly enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend Abelia to anyone visiting Nelson

Our Team and Supporters (27 in all) recently had the pleasure of staying at the Abelia Motor Lodge. What a great place to stay, with hosts that were always willing to go out of their way to meet all our needs. The units were spotlessly clean and well maintained each day. Cooking for this large group was never a problem... More

Booked this motel based on trip advisor feedback. The motel itself is ok! Looks a bit dated though. But the traffic is constant on this road with B train trucks passing by at all hours!!! Do not stay here if you are not used to traffic noise as you will get no sleep.

It is unfortunate you didn’t enjoy your stay. We currently have a special type of glass installed to prevent a large amount of noise coming in. So long as you keep your front window shut, most people find it no problem. More

We had a great night in this nice lodge. The room was tidy and clean, and all the facilities were coloured in lovely green, which is my favourate colour. The lodge was located just at the bottom of a hill and you could easily experience a sun rise if you drove to the top. It was closed to the everywhere,... More

This place was recommeded to me. It is a hidden gem. It is easy to find on a main road leading into Nelson town centre. Even though on a main road there is very little noise from traffic. The unit was very clean and modern. Excellent bed and I love the duvet as it was so light but warm.

As a couple of female friends, we requested a twin room and although this necessitated splitting a kingsize bed into two singles, this was done quickly, efficiently and with pleasant communication. The rain was teeming down but the response to our request lifted our spirits. The room, kitchen and bathroom were immaculately clean and very comfortably furnished and the cutlery,... More

The lodge was very clean and the service of the owners was terrific, we asked if they had a BBQ and they wheeled one right tothe apartment straight away. We enjoyed the BBQ in the sunset , as the lodge is facing toward the afternoon sun. All the utensils were there. The room was very clean, could not fault the... More

This is a very well kept motel, we had a lovely one bedr0om unit with everything in tip top condition and very clean, it is one of the best units we have stayed in during our 8 weeks in New Zealand. The motel is on a busy road but the units are set well back from the road and we... More

After travel through the South Island staying at motels, Abelia has by far some of the best beds I've ever slept in. Highly recommended.

A great Motel. The lady was really friendly. The unit was very clean and quiet. I heard no sounds from the units next to mine and they were booked. I found no fault at all, the price was good, this is not a 5 star unit, but worth staying in. I travel a lot for work, so I like a... More
