This hostel really does live up to its name. From the top of the hill where it’s situated you can check out the whole of Nelson . The owner picked us up from the bus station. It is located at the hilltop, victorian style building. Overall the hostel is just too dated and lack of maintenance, a lot of stuffs are old and torn, like our bedsheet and blanket, they should do something about it. Beautiful Victorian building. Large spacious bedrooms with no bunks. Balcony views of town and mountains. Central location near all amenities i.e. supermarket and central bus station. It's a very nice building with a couple of other houses in the grounds, there's plenty of room to just relax, a very comfortable TV lounge with plenty of movies, free tea and proper coffee and even free bread/cakes every afternoon. Wonderful old house that has been converted into a hostel. Service was great and people staying were all friendly. Only complaint is that the beds weren't the best. They also provided a free breakfast for us.
