Well furnished rooms, and stunning restaurant. Would have loved to have stayed in the main house, but was all being refurbished. The owner Robyn was particularly helpful and friendly, and a nice touch that she remembered our names, it certainly made it feel more homely and special.

My wife and I visited Kaikoura throughout March as we came up to visit my sister in law who runs Kaikoura aquarium. We decided on the Boutique hotel because of the beachfront location and exceptional interior decorating. The hotel is great for a weeks stay or a simple weekend away. It had everything i needed to continue my business while... More

First impressions were great. The hotel looks lovely and is well situated right on the waterfront and near the start of the Peninsular walk. The owner was very friendly. The room was small but looked lovely and stylish and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately the tv kept playing up, we couldn't access the wi-fi and we couldn't operate the... More

Good views from lounge, very friendly staff. Our bedroom was just big enough for a double bed, no wardrobe, no chest of drawers, bathroom very small. Cheap decoration, door not fitted so let in cold air at night. No WiFi as promised. Breakfast expensive and small quantity. We and others complained and were both told they would 'report it to... Thank you for your review. I am sorry you were unhappy with your Courtyard Standard room. These rooms are indeed small and we do advertise them as such. There was a short period of time in February when the complementary Wi-Fi was unavailable in the rooms, but was available in either the courtyard or the guest lounge. You should have... More

This is a beautiful colonial hotel, situated right on the coastal road overlooking the pacific. We stayed here for 2 nights in a standard room in the annex behind the main building. The decor was lovely and the owners did their best with the space that was on offer here, but it really was a tight squeeze, with enough room... More

The old building itself is gorgeous - really special. The views are to die for... They have to be seen to be believed... Especially at sunrise and sunset - WOW!! The hotel is being renovated - the guest lounge is very tastefully done and benefits from the aforementioned views (although a lot of insects in there during my stay). The... More

We took the amazing scenic route from Nelson to Kaikoura which was spectacular, stopping off to enjoy the stunning views and wildlife, so it was later on in the afternoon when we reached Kaikoura and headed for the hotel hoping we'd get a room as we hadn't booked. We chose this hotel because for us it was in the perfect... More

Great location. Recently renovated rear units. Small yet very efficient use of space. Well decorated. Friendly staff. Nice walk on esplanade across from the hotel. First class restaurant attached to the main building.
