Picked it based on tripadvisor reviews. Room was fine. Breakfast was good. Service ok. Enjoyed the 1 mile walk to dinner each night. Only complaint was the tight parking which led to our car getting scraped in their parking lot.

I've been here before and I've already book to come back for the 4th time. Great restaurant great service and friendly staff. Close to shops and other restaurants. Only 2 problems. one is NO GYM. This building used to be the old Launceston General Hospital and so being an x local of 30 years ago I avoided it when it was turned into a hotel. What a mistake.....the place is transformed not a modern contemporary boutique hotel and is central to all the good eating areas. Staff friendly and helpful....I recommend.

Hotel Charles was our choice for a spontaneoud getaway...check in staff were very accommodating, including free upgrade to King Studio. Rooms were spacious and warm, bathroom was huge....and a highlight was brunch in the inhouse restaurant, best gluten-free bread I've had and all made in-house! Would definately stay again!! Good location within walking distance of City.
