We got a room there for a night of rest on our way back to Queenstown. The first room given to us was next door to another one with a big group of kids and we asked for another option. They gave us a bigger room, at the back of the motel for the same fare. The room was ok.... More

The Alpine View is decidedly a middle of the road, "you get what you pay for" kind of place. I can't find myself raving about any aspect of the place. Rooms were dated and had an odor to them. At least they had provided updated carpet and furniture, and having a full kitchen would be nice for some people I... More

Booked this last-ish minute as a rest stop on the way to the Milford Sound. Picked up a unit on the top deck which had a view of the lake. It was clean, surprisingly spacious & bright and fairly upto date. It had a kettle/ toaster/fridge. Oddly, but helpfully had crockery and cutlery for 3. The bed was large (queen... More

This is a great location to stop over for your Milford day trip. Had one night here with 4 adults and 1 child. Great 3 bedroom unit. Bedrooms very spacious with to queen rooms and a bunk room for the children. It was great to have the children in there own room. Not too many motels have 3 spacious bedrooms.... More

We enjoyed our time here. The room had some new furnishings and fittings, and was spotlessly clean. The full kitchen was great to cook dinner for the family. Having a separate room for the kids with three beds was useful, as was the playground just outside our room. The manager was very friendly and helpful. There was a laundry and... More

We spent two nights at the Alpine View as part of an autumn break. We had enquired about the hotel's sister property but the owners very helpfully suggested we have a look at the (cheaper) Alpine View, not least at it has some bigger units and great facilities for kids (swings, slides, climbing fort etc.). The Alpine View is about... More

Booked in late viaTe Anua i-site. We had a 2 bed unit which is all they had left but got no discount. Furniture and fittings were good. Plenty of space to sit outdside. Excellent laundry room. BBQ area. Staff helpfull and know the area well. Far enough away from restaurants and lake front to not be disturbed, but everything within... More

Arrived late in the afternoon basically just as a stopover on the way to Milford Sound the next day, and stayed one night. Evening owner/manager (not sure which) was cordial, if not particularly friendly. But completely non-negotiable on price. He wouldn't budge one dollar even though it was a winter Tuesday night, and I believe there were two other rooms... More

This motel has a lovely setting and is only a few minutes walk from the waterfront. Our unit was at the front on ground level. It was very light and spacious with full kitchen facilities and a separate bedroom. We overlooked a large lawn and had a glimpse of the lake. Upstairs rooms would have uninterrupted views but we were... More

We booked a 2 bedroom unit, but were given a 3 bedroom unit for no extra charge and as it was not busy. (We arrived after the April school hols). All the facilities we needed, namely kitchen and bedroom for the kids, and rooms nicely heated if needed. Very friendly, helpful and a great kids playground on site. Only 5... More
