This hostel has several buildings around a garden. What is great to relax, having dinner or do a barbecue. The rooms were fine, a little too dark, but clean. The only downside is that many of the rooms (not all) open onto the garden and you have to go outside to use the bathroom. The two kitchens and two living... More

friendly staff , calm environment and very nice garden.A pity that we couldn't visit Christchurch cathedral and several other old buildings but we understand this because of the earthquake of 2011.parking before the building.

We just enjoyed our second stay at Foley Towers on 28 March 2013 - we last stayed there in July 2012. We returned as it is excellent value for an en-suite room in central Christchurch. Its basic, but quite adequate! Staff were very friendly and helpful ...& we heard them looking after a backpacker who arrived very late at night... More

I stayed at Foley Towers in late May and thought it was awesome. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is clearly really well looked after and run with a good deal of pride. It's obvious that the owners really love the place. The kitchens are really good - clean and well-equipped, with a few extras that really... More

I stayed at Foley Towers for two nights at the beginning of April. I found the reception staff extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. There was lots of travel booklets and information in the reception area, a book exchange, an area for backpackers to leave items they no longer wanted, 2 kitchens, a dining area and 2 lounges. There was a... More

Great place to stay, excellent friendly staff, really helpful, nice atmosphere, very relaxing, great gardens, nice big kitchens, lounges were great, rooms very clean, lots of hot water, showers good, cafe across the road, 10 mins to museum, shops within walking distance and lots of little markets, Christchurch is reviving itself as the garden city, and lots of great pop... Foley Towers is a good hostel. I found refugee there after the earthquake in 2010. The hostel has many beds but the atmosphere is still cozy. If you need to cook, you can choose between many kitchens. If you wanna relax, you can choose between different living rooms. You have many places you can hang around. I couldn't say there... More

We stayed at this hostel after flying over from Aus and this place turned out to be a great start to our time in NZ. We arrived late in the day due to our flight times, but this caused no dramas at all, with the staff organising everything ready for our arrival. We met the staff the next morning who... More

We spent our 2 last nights in NZ in this hostel. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome and the facilities are excellent (some rooms en-suite) 2 large clean very well equiped kitchens, 2 big living rooms with a comfortable, home-y feel to them, laundry, garden. This was one of the best backpackers we stayed in in NZ.... More

We had a great time in this friendly hostel in a nice shared room with good beds and what is much more important with realy good mattresses. The rooms as well as the bathrooms are very clean and tidy and the kitchen is well equipped. The only thing what could have been better are the frieing pans. You find a... More
