My husband and I arrived late on a Friday after multiple trip delays, and Dennis was lovely enough to come and pick us up from the airport to bring us back to their B&B. The Lilac Rose is a beautiful historic home that has been renovated beautifully. Our room was cosy and charming, very comfortable, with all that we required... More

Charming hosts and very comfortable accomodation. The lovely heritage home is a pleasure to be in, quiet peaceful surrounds yet easy to get to city and gardens. Don't miss the Bot garden and Mona Vale garden

Can only really add my own endorsement of the great things already said on here about Lilac Rose. We stayed here twice on our trip around the South Island, once in the Mulberry room and the 2nd time in the Attic room. Both were lovely and comfortable with quality furnishings and 'consumables'. Dennis and Pam are both very friendly and... More

A beautifully presented B&B. The owners are friendly, making it feel like a home away from home. The Mulberry room was spacious and had a nice ensuite. The attic room was smaller and a shared bathroom. Both were clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was was of a high standard with a good choice of alternatives.

The couple who run this lovely little place are great, the place itself is homely and warm. It's 10 minutes away from the airport and there's shops, take aways nearby and the city centre isn't far either. Me and my wife were more than happy here and it's a shame we never got to use the outdoor hot tub that... More

We arrived when the roses where in bloom and the house looked stunning from the outside and immaculate from within. But this isn't one of those places where you're afraid to sit on the sofas. It's a real family home and Pam and Dennis will welcome you into it and make you feel at home right from the start. They... More

Really lovely even when we arrived on the wrong day!! Hosts, location and breakfast all fantastic. We stayed in the attic room which was lovely but as they warn you there limited head height for tall travelers. Will definitely stay there again

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and I would recommend this B&B to anyone. Pam and Dennis were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was delicious, the room clean and comfortable and a good location to get around the city.

I've just arrived back to Wellington from a wonderful weekend in Christchurch staying at the Lilac Rose Bed and Breakfast. I'm compelled to write a review. What fabulous hosts Pam and Denis are. So generous with their time and knowledge. Home and grounds are gorgeous, as is Maddie the four-legged family member - perfect for those of us who miss... More

We spent over 12 months planning our recent 5 week tour of NZ. And after reading the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor, we booked to spend the first 2 days and last day of our tour of the south island at the Lilac Rose. We booked the dates well in advance (April 2012) and received confirmation of the 2 bookings... More

It is unfortunate that my niece's wedding coincided with your planned stay at our B & B and that my explanation and the alternative accommodation that we arranged more than 3 months prior to your visit were not satisfactory. We are proud of the outstanding reviews that we receive and that we are currently No 1 on Trip Advisor in... More
