Our little cottage was separate from the main building and 2 suites. It was a sweet place, separate bedroom, lounge/kitchen, laundry area, outside patio where we bbq'd our own steaks. Kitchen was made of beautifully made NZ wooden cabinetry, good size w full sized fridge, coffee plunger. Took cup of tea to bed, opened the curtains and watched the vineyard... More

Having read all the previous reviews we were looking forward to somewhere special to end our holiday in NZ. We certainly found it. Nettie, Bill & Jane were superb hosts from the moment we arrived until our sad departure. We arrived early evening to a pre-arranged platter absolutely full of fresh local produce accompanied by their own 'Worlds End' extremely... More

Our stay at the Straw Lodge was fantastic: Nettie, Jane, BIll and Texas really gave us a lovely time. First of all, the lodge is located in the middle of the vineyard, with an incredible view on the mountains. These same vines that produces a great Sauvignon Blanc that we had a chance to taste with the other guests. Breakfasts... More

My wife & I were lucky enough to spend a few days at the Straw Lodge in early March and felt like we wanted to move in! This cozy place is just a bit outside of the downtown Blenheim area on a little boutique winery (with some very delicious wine!). Nettie & Jane are so friendly and easy to talk... More

Our trip to New Zealand was much too rushed, but we take what we can get. My college student daughter had a one week break from school, so off we went. After a VERY long day driving from Queenstown to Blenheim (I don't recommend doing that!) we arrived at the Straw Lodge in the evening & were met by Nettie... More

I've just read over the other recent reviews and I don't what to add. Nettie, Jane and Bill could have done literally nothing else to make our stay more enjoyable. From arrival drinks and snacks (happy hour!) with their own lovely wines (Worlds End SB and PN) through to advice on where to visit and eat over our 3 night... More

Our three night stay in a vineyard suite was just not long enough to begin to soak up the beautiful scenery looking out over an organic vineyard to the mountains beyond, the cozy suite, plus the amazing breakfast feasts each morning. Nettie and Jane are first rate hosts and chefs (they say 'just cooks') but this breakfast beats the Four... More

We stayed in one of the vineyard suites which was really fantastic. The room is designed perfectly, everything you might need was available, and the view from the bed on the vineyard is amazing. We can recommend the hot tub under the starry sky in the vineyard. We borrowed the bikes and made a ride in the area. The hosts... More

This place exceeded all expectations. The grounds are like an organic fairy tale. They have an herb garden, citrus, lavender and vegetables in bloom. All studded with playful sculpture from local artists. Not to mention the organic vineyards stretching out behind the room. The local area was stunning. We stayed here for two nights at the start of spring. The... More

It is lovely to be able to stay at a b & b within a vineyard. The hosts were friendly and made us feel welcomed. We were fortunate to be able to taste their wines and sit and talk about the area. The rooms were clean, but a bit rustic. Overall, it was such a nice experience.
