Clean, efficient and very reasonable accommodations in Thorndon, just beyond the Parliament Buildings (the Beehive) and very close to Old St. Paul's. We got a late booking here fdor the Rugby World Cup quarter final weekend. I would not recommend this hotel other than for a handy access to the Parliament end of Welly and if you got a good rate. I imagine business people would be well served, but no romance whatsoever. More

I stayed at the Kingsgate Hotel in Wellington for one night recently when on a business trip. The location was very convenient and surprisingly quiet. The only downside was that the room, although refurbished, was quite dated. As a consequence I'm not inclined to stay there for more than 1-2 nights at a time. More
