We stayed at the South gate Motor Inn while my mother was in the hospital across the road, The owners Dave and Nat where absolutely amazing and went out of there way to make our stay stress free .The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the spa and shower are fabulous,beds were so comfy. Hosts were wonderful, being able to connect to the internet was great and using the phone in the bedroom for local calls was a plus. There were no problems having my family come and visit any time and park in the complex car park. The complex is very close to cafe and restaurants just a short walk and your there.... More

My daughter (15) said, very relaxing place. Great location, bus route, close to amenities, nice and clean and I particularly love their generous sized bathrooms with double spa. I am not sure why people seem to like this place. It has a terrible location, stained carpets and a surley check in lady. The rooms themselves are a bit tired but well supplied. They have free parking but interenet is $15/day. Room price was $135 NZ/night. All in all, you can do better. More

A very nice place to stay. As a solo traveller I felt completely safe and secure. As others have noted the noise can be an issue, but once rush hour is over it's not too bad, also the helicopter landing at the hospital was a bit loud the first time. Got used to it after that. My father and I stayed here for 2 nights while my Mother was having a heart operation over the road at Wellington Hospital.
