This was literally the best B&B we stayed in during our trip to NZ. Warm hosts, gorgeous house, stellar location just outside of Hawke's Bay, and the grounds surrounding the house are to die for with views of vineyards and a magical garden. The breakfast was exquisite and all home-made. We were even given a menu to select breakfast items... More

We were delighted with our accommodation at Esk Valley Lodge and the warm hospitality from our hosts. They were very warm, friendly and helpful with planning a wine tour for us. The room was huge, clean and had an amazing view. An overall very enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Only stayed one night on a busy trip to New Zealand - wished we could have stayed longer! The Sauvingnon Room is large, well appointed, has a small balcony and has an excellent view of the vineyards.Breakfast was also excellent. The before dinner wine and cheese and chat with the owners/hosts was the perfect way to prepare for dinner at... More

Our Semillon Room was very spacious in a self contained area in this characterful house. We had a good large bathroom with separate loo and separate shower and fluffy towels. The bed was extremely comfortable and smashing linen. The Lodge is set in a small vineyard and is in a peaceful location about fifteen minutes out of downtown Napier. On... More

I stayed in the lovely Esk Valley Lodge as part of a family group of 5 adults - we stayed in a twin room, and the double room with single annexe. The rooms were very clean and pleasantly stylish - not in the slightest bit chintzy - and the bathrooms were immaculate with lovely towels. Location is lovely and rural... More

As bed and breakfast owners we have a good idea what makes a good BnB. We can highly recommend Esk Valley Lodge. Jes and Eileen were great hosts in their beautiful renovated country house. We stayed two nights in the Semillon room, it was very comfortable, with a large bathroom and separate tolit. Their hospitality was excellent and breakfast was... More

A wonderful homely atmosphere in beautiful surroundings, a clean, well appointed and comfortable room, and super home cooked breakfasts made Esk Valley Lodge a great place to stay. Eileen & Jes were kind, generous and attentive hosts who were very helpful in suggesting interesting places to visit in Napier, and we much enjoyed their company and hospitality. We would highly... We spent two night here in Nov 2012. The place is absolutely beautiful: gardens, vineyards and the house. The valley is very peaceful and this is the perfect place to relax. Breakfast was great and we ordered food from Eileen ans Jes (the owners) for one dinner. It was the best food we've got so far in NZ. Very much... More

We had a pleasant and relaxing stay. We were warmly welcomed with nibbles and a nice glass of our hosts own wine. We were there in winter so there was a cosy atmosphere and a roaring fire in the guest lounge. The rooms where comfortable and scrupulously clean. Breakfast was fresh, abundant and delicious. A little out of town, which... More

Exceptionally comfortable, beautifully renovated country house. We stayed in the Semillon suite which included a lovely lounge area as a well as a balcony terrace looking over the garden. Very welcoming and friendly hosts and we particularly enjoyed the small touches of luxury that helped to make our stay very special.
