Only stayed for one night but it was a novel experience. Booked the entire plane for my family, but ended up staying in the ship as we thought it was much nicer and more spacious. The rooms in both the plane and the ship probably need a bit of a renovation but this didn't detract too much from the accommodation.... More

We stayed in the Ship with our grandchildren. It was an awesome experience, and I can't wait to go back to try out the Plane, Train or Hobbit Hotel. The place is very close to the Waitomo Caves and eateries. The owner gave us some very helpful tips regarding visting the Caves too.

We only added Woodlyn Park to our visit to NZ because of Tripadvisor but it really wasn't for us sadly. We were disappointed I think more because of the build up the reviewers had given but we booked the plane room and were so disappointed. We stayed in both of these fantastic themed cabins, there were both well fitted out and clean and fun. The scenery was beautiful and it just made us feel like we were in a new world, photos were fun doing the 'Titanic' ship pose and the round hobbit doors were bizarre. Loved this tranquil area.

We stayed 1 night here at the Hobbit double studio. Great fun, felt like a teenager again for the fun of living in a hobbit hole. We checked out the Airplane cabin tail room as well, it would be nice to stay 1 night in the hobbit room and 1 night at the plane room.
