We chose alto due to its location and it looked really nice to spend our first wedding anniversary. The hotel is walking distance from the sky bus and train station. Room was ready early which was a bonus. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was super comfortable. We loved the massage chairs. We had breakfast included in our room price.... More

We stayed at the weekend in a 2br apartment, it was very comfortable, nice & quiet. The staff were very helpful & pleasant. The beds very extremely comfortable. Furnishings were very nice. All in all a great little hotel. Tram outside, taxis and Skybus around the corner

All hotels should be like the Alto. This is a hotel that walks the talk. All the energy is produced by the windmill on the roof and there are no disposable shampoo/conditioner/soap containers that the other hotels use and eventually end up in the land fill. If you're looking for a great business class hotel that has a low carbon... More

Our stay at the Alto was great. Booked on-line some time ago, and only had to pay a deposit, rather than the whole amount up front. Check-in was smooth and easy, room ready and very clean and quiet. Housekeeping came in swiftly and no hassles. Liked the in-room safe. Breakfast each morning such a bonus, especially being able to have... More

It was difficult to see this hotel on 11pm arrival. No lights on outside was very strange. Perhaps it was due to their focus on being environmentally friendly. However no lights is unsafe and not welcoming at all. We seemed to woke up the guy on the front desk. Over the speaker he asked how he could help?! Well if... More

I stayed at the Alto as a last minute business trip where I had to be at the stadium end of the CBD. The Alto is in a fantastic old building which has been renovated both functionally and tastefully. Getting out of the lift I was confronted by a fairly bland, and worrying corridor which reduced my hopes significantly. This... More

Stayed one night before venturing out on the Great Ocean Road. It was right by the Southern Cross station. Not a pretty part of town (except the lovely little church across the street) but convenient for both walking, tram and near a taxi station. Beautiful sitting room provided coffee tea water and apples all day. Little cookies and another coffee... More

This was our 2nd stay at the Alto and it still ticks all the boxes. Location is handy to facilities and attractions, the staff are friendly and helpful, rooms and amenities great with plenty of free inclusions and the breakfasts (included) are excellent. I won't hesitate to go back to the Alto.

I have just arrived home after a 3 night stay in a standard 2 bedroom apartment at the Alto Hotel. It was a much needed break for my mum and sisters after a long 7 months of illness for my mum. This location was perfect and central to everything we needed. The hotel was clean and spacious and the staff... More
