Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place to stay. Bed comfortable and room was spacious. Small ensuite. Very reasonably priced. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was included, although they were a bit disorganised. Would stay here again. Short walk to restaurants. ...

What a shame , lovely road and outside . But it was not so good inside . The hallway and stairs dirty . Our room was run down , the furniture and decor shabby Needed painting . Under the bed dirty . A update and it could be fabulous . The breakfast was nice though .

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was very clean and the personnel was so nice. The best part was definitely breakfast which was really tasty. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

One star for location, rest don't waste your money. Old, smelly, just awful. I have to write 200 words, can't find anything else to say. We ended up not staying, after match at MCG we collected our bags and left.

The room was nothing like we saw from the photo's on the website. It must have been a beautiful building in it's day, but really needs some work done on it now. The room was cold and the heater didn't work that well, it had to be left on all day and night to get any heat out of it. The bathroom window needs fixing to stop the draft and the window ledge needs cleaning. The beds need pulling out to get rid of all the dust behind them. The kettle leaked. On a positive note, the staff are very friendly and there is a full cooked breakfast in the morning. 8-9am and it's within walking distance from CBD.

Simply superb - location, service, parking, care for all people staying, vintage look inside and out. Really impressed with our room as we even had an ensuite, extra blankets and with breakfast provided, we still had simply tea, coffee etc in our room We loved it all!

Started out a little cold from the receptionist but suddenly became very helpful and obliging assisting us upstairs to our room with our bags. She also suggested getting help from staff with our bags when checking out in 2 days. The room was compact but comfortable. The bed was comfortable as well. The ensuite bathroom was huge with a great shower, the only downside was the size of the towels. Very clean. Very quiet. Downstairs was a large sitting room with a big screen t.v. If you didn’t want to watch the one in your room. Included in the price was a full breakfast in the dining room from 8a.m. The full range cooked from the kitchen. Decor was back to the early 60’s but everything was clean, neat and tidy. Staff were obliging and helpful. Will definitely stay here again but this time ask for a downstairs room as there are no lifts.

Strangely chose this place partly because of price, but particularly location in the nice East Melbourne area and near major routes. Unfortunately it's very shabby and drab. The room was very basic, TV didn't really work, and the bed was pretty awful. I dreaded going back each night.

I have stayed at Georgian court a few times, the previous being about 10 years ago. This visit was very disappointing. A beautiful old building built in 1860 and converted to boutique hotel accommodation in the eighties, the building and fixtures are in a desperate need of professional attention. Our ensuite room obviously has a mould problem in the bathroom. The fix seemed to be slap paint over the top without cleaning off the mould. The window wouldn’t close and during the night it opened right up! The kettle wouldn’t boil without holding down the power switch. It would be lovely to see this amazing building refurbished. Basic breakfast supplied. Given its location and onsite parking it is not bad value for money.

This is a nice friendly place to stay just on the edge of the CBD. Nice en-suite rooms with good breakfast and friendly staff. Easy access to city and was good for our cycling group since they allowed us to store our bike bags whilst we cycled the Great Ocean Road.
